MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 10‘ from the required setback of 30' for an
existing building located 20' from the bluff with the condition that a berm will be Installed by
the applicant in the sensitive area. The structure encroaches very 11ttle( about 40 square feet)
In the bluff Impact area and the applicant has already made some accommodations to handle
runoff. The applicant Is attempting to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Young Life Campaign, Detroit Lakes, MN, requested a variance of 10' from the required setback
of 30' for an existing building located 20' from the bluff. The property is described as part of
Government Lot 1, Sections 2 and 3 of Dunn Township on Pelican Lake. A letter from Tim and
Chyrll Sparks opposing this request was read for the record. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts,
seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 10' from the
required setback of 30' for an existing building located 20' from the bluff with the condition
that a berm will be installed by the applicant in the sensitive area. The structure encroaches
very litt1e( about 40 square feet) in the bluff impact area and the applicant has already made
some accommodations to handle runoff. The applicant is attempting to comply and conform with
the Americans with Disabilities Act.
James Jr. and Daniel Bucholz - Approved
James Jr. and Daniel Bucholz, Perham, MN, requested a variance to split off two parcels of less
than 2.5 acres from an existing parcel. Parcel A as described on the surveyor's drawing would
be .87 acres and Parcel B as described on the surveyor's drawing would be ,884 acres, A
surveyor's drawing is on file for review. The balance of the original parcel would be in excess
of 2,5 acres. The property is described as the East 1 /2 of NE 1 /4 and Government Lots 1 and 2,
except part platted as Sunny Beach, Section 25 of Gorman Township on Little Pine Lake. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion
was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried, to approve the
variance as requested with the provision that a surveyor's drawing will be provided. Hardship
being the common ownership of the land. The two parcels meet the lot width for platted back
lots and Parcel A has approximately 37,897 square feet of area and Parcel B has approximately
38,507 square feet of area.
Joanino Donaldson - Tabled
Jeanine Donaldson, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of 6'8" from the required side lot
line setback of 1 O' for the construction of a 20' by 24' garage , The property is described as Lot
5, 2nd Addition to Outlet Beach, Lake Lida in Lida Township, After consideration, motion was
made by Bert Olson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to table this variance
until the next scheduled meeting per the request of the applicant.
Dorothy Pender - Denied
Dorothy Pender, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance to construct a 1 4' by 18' 6" garage
33' from the center of the township road. The required setback from the road right of way is
20'. The property is described as Lot 9, Henrys Hill, Franklin Lake in Dunn Township. After
consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously
carried to deny the variance request as the applicant was originally scheduled for the October
meeting and had been rescheduled for both the November and December meetings and has not
made an appearance at any of these hearings nor has the applicant responded to the
correspondence sent from the Auditor's Office,
