Meeting of the Otter Tail County Planning Commission was held on June 20, 2012 at 6:30
P.M. in the Commissioner's Room, Government Services Center, Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Roll Call:
Members Present: Rod Boyer, Ken Erickson, Marion Gill, Bert Kinzier, Joe Maske, Bert
Olson, Robert Schwartz, Rick Wilson and Leona Zimmerman.
Members Absent: DaveTrites.
David Hauser represented the County Attorney's Office and Bill Kalar represented the Land
& Resource Management Office.
Minutes of May 9, 2012: A motion by Erickson, second by Kinzier to approve the May 9,
2012 Minutes as presented. Voting: All members in favor.
Jamielind Inc. - Approved As Presented:
A Conditional Use Permit (as stated by the Applicant on the Application): Build new
driveway to attach to existing road bed, new & existing at 18' x 400’, top dress with Class 5
gravel. Create building pad for separate garage - 36 x 56. Create a building pad for house,
site max at 70 x 100. Remove old road bed, 16’ x 150’. Total yards moved & trucked in -
939 yds. The project is located in Jamielind Shores Lot 10, Section 30 of Edna Township;
Big McDonald Lake (56-386), RD.
Don Tietz (Contractor), Scott Dirks (Jamielind Shores), David Anderson (Anderson Land
Surveying) and Wayne Johnson (Sewage System Designer) represented the Application.
May 9, 2012 Motion: A motion by Trites, second by Gill to table (at the Applicant’s request)
to June 20, 2012, to allow the Applicant time to comply with the presentation requirements
of the Shoreland Management Ordinance and mark the proposed project onsite by clearly
identifying the cut and fill areas, and indicating the proposed lake setback. Area should be
marked by June 1,2012.
Motion: A motion by Maske, second by Schwartz to approve as presented, including the
survey map received at the Meeting (dated June 20, 2012). Voting: All Members in favor.
Young Life Castaway Club / Young Life Campaign - Approve As Presented:
A Conditional Use Permit (as stated by the Applicant on the Application): Replacement of entrance
to the main dining room building with a 12’ x 23’ vestibule covered by a 19’ x 30’ roof.
Entrance also includes a two level elevator to provide accessibility to the lower level. The
project is located in Pt of Sub Lot A & B of GL 1 (4.90 AC) & W 2.08 AC of SL B ex W 150’,
Section 3 and Robinswood all ex Lot A, Pelican Heights Subdivision Lot 5 BIk 4 and Bg
478.5’ N of M.C. 49, ELY 66.6’, NWLY 101.1’, Section 2 of Dunn Township; Pelican Lake
