Valerie Holt - Approved the variance application as modified. (7:25 p.m.)
Valerie Holt, Lot 3 Holman’s Maple Lane Beach, Stuart Lake in Nidaros Township, requested a variance of
35’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a replacement dwelling
(double wide mobile home) 65’ from the ordinary high water level. “Due to change in string line rules and
the existence of a knoll which houses the holding tank we are requesting that we can use the old string line
from structure to structure’’. An email from Cletus and Roberta Behrmann opposing the variance as
requested was read for the record. The audience was polled with Mike Cicharz speaking for the variance
as requested. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Michael
Harris and unanimously carried, to approve the placement of a dwelling (double wide mobile home) no
closer to the ordinary high water level than what would be permitted by the current building line. The
building line is the line between the structures, excluding decks, on the adjacent properties as determined
by extending a line between the points of those structures that are nearest the ordinary high water level
and which are on the common lot line side of the structures.
Stephen and Kathryn Austvold - Approve the variance application as modified. (7:43 p.m.)
Stephen and Kathryn Austvold, part of Government Lot 3, Section 24 of Buse Township by Swan Lake and
an unnamed lake, requested a variance 6’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the placement of
a new foundation under the existing cabin. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against
the variance; as requested. A letter from Florence and Kenneth Hoisted in support of the variance as
requested vvas read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion,
second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the placement of a new foundation under the
existing 24’by 28’cabin 8’from the side lot lines. Hardship is a substandard lot of record!

application and as depicted in the drawing submitted with the variance application with the condition that no
more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. The Board considered the
proposed project routine maintenance.
William J. and Denise L. Delaney - Approved the variance as requested. (7:56 p.m.)
William J. and Denise L. Delaney, part of Government Lots 1 and 3, Section 15 of Edna Township by Paul
Lake, requested a variance to have an existing 2.5 acre back lot declared buildable for residential purpose!
The audience was polled with no.one.speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion
and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to
declare Tract A as identified on the drawing submitted with the variance application as a buildable parcel
for residential purpose with the understanding that future development must meet the setback
requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance unless the property owners apply for and receive a
variance from the Board of Adjustment. It was noted that the variance as approved is for the width of the
lot and does not directly or indirectly grant any other variance for any future development that does not
