Your special use permit was approved at the November 7, 1973
meeting of the Otter Tail County Planning Advisory Commission
and we understand that construction has begun.
Please be advised that it is a direct violation of Shoreland
Management Off'ice to build without first obtaining a building
permit.
Therefore if building permits are not obtained by December l8,
1973» it will be necessary for us to take legal action.

This is to inform you that at the November 7> 1973 nieeting
of the Planning Commission a motion was passed to approve
your special use permit application subject to:
1) South boundary should be 50 feet rather than
45 feet.2) Completion date to be January 1, 1975*
3) Present five rental cabins shall be removed
by January 1, 1979.
This application will be taken to the County Board for
their decision at their next meeting.

Applications for such licenseto operate within Otter Tail County, Minnesota,
shall be made in person at the County Court Hotise, Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Copies of above mentioned ordinance are available, free of charge, upon request.

In my opinion, there is the law and the spirit of the law. Six duplexes
on a small lake like East Lost Lake are outside of the spitlt and true
Intent of our laws.
Our yoxmg people in Minnesota trust us to conserve and pass on to them what
remains of the natural beauty of our lakes, rivers, and wooded areas. Why is
it that in the interest of monetary gain, we continue to slowly despoil our
natural heritage and violate our avowed pledge to these yoxmg people? Do we plan to hand over to them the lakes of Otter Tail County with shores llne^
with rows of duplexes?
This project is not proposed by people who intend to build single cabins or
even a resort where they themselves or others can come and enjoy East Lost Lake.
It seems to me to be a commercial venture not in accord with the spirit and
Intent of our Shoreline Management and Conservation Laws.
Please register my strong opposition to this project.
