Motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as
requested subject to the deck not exceeding 3’ in height. It was noted that the proposal would place the structure a
greater distance from the ordinary high water level than the existing structure.

V,.United Sportsman Club, Inver Grove Heights, MN, requested a variance “to replace existing trailer and
reduce size of overall structure without pursuing a conditional use permit.” The property is described'as
Lots 3, 4 and the North Half of the Northeast Quarter, Section 27 of Dead Lake Township by Dead
Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request.. After consideration,
motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve
the variance as requested subject to the deck not exceeding 3’ in height. It was noted that the proposal
would place the structure a greater distance from the ordinary high water level than the existing
structure.
Gabor Kerekes - Tabled
Gabor Kerekes, Perham, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a 2.8-acre tract from an existing, 36-
acre parcel without platting. The property is described as the South Half of the North'Half of the
Northwest Quarter, Section 6 of Otto Township by the Otter Tail River. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann,
seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to table the applicant’s requested until the
September 10, 1998 Board of Adjustment meeting to allow the applicant an opportunity to determine if
a building site exist on the proposed parcel that would not require any variances.
Terrence Anderson - Approved
Terrence Anderson, Moorhead, MN, requested a variance “to leave the existing drain field which is
about 3’ into the easement cart way.” The property is described as Sub Lot'2 of Government Lot 1,
Section 27 of Dunn Township by Lake Franklin. The audience was polled with Wayne Erickson,. ,
Richard Peterson and others speaking against the request. After consideration, motion was made by
Randall Mann, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as
requested noting that the Board of Adjustment would have approve the request had it been presented
before the system was installed. Hardship is a substandard lot of record.
Clarification - Glenn and Yvonne Rogness
On August 6, 1998 the Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment took the following action:
Motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Rod Boyer and unanimously carried, to deny the
variance as requested noting that the applicants’ basic proposal is very good, but this type of.
development should be referred to the Planning Commission for their consideration and approval.
It should be noted that the Board of Adjustment did not view the 143’ width of the lake lots as a
problem.
At that time the Board did not know that Glenn and Yvonne Rogness could not submit an application to
the Planning Commission unless they had a variance for a width of less than 150’. After discussion and
consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried,
to approve a variance of 7’ from the required 150’ lot width for the purpose of platting four lake lot
having only 143’ of width subject to the review and approval of the total proposed plat by the Planning

County Shoreland Management Ordinance and/or the Subdivision Controls Ordinance. The Otter Tail County Board of
Adjustment will assemble for this hearing on
August 13,1998, at 8:30 p.m..
in the Commissioners’ Room of the Otter Tail County Courthouse, Fergus Falls, MN. (Please use the west Law
Enforcement entrance.) Individuals requiring special accommodations should contact the County Auditor’s
