N'jr^XTES CF THE MEETING OF THE OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSI^ENT October 4, 1990 TJie Otter Tail County Board of Adjustrent met Ttiursday, October 4, 1990 with the following persons in attendanoe: George Walter Victor Petterson, Jr. Carl Johnson John Everts Craig Anderson Daniel Oehler Tim Griep, Land & Resource Kurt Mortenson, Assistant County Attorney Qiairman Walter called the riEeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and hearing no objections or dianges to the minutes of the Sepbenber 6th meeting, declared seme approved as mailed. CALL TO ORDER MTNUTES APPROVED The following ^)plications for variance were he2u:d: Michael J. Temus, Anoka, NW, requested permission to construct porch 28' from Maricn Lake, on Lot 3, Art's North Shore, Rush Lake Township. After consideration, motion was made by Victor Petterson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to deny, no adequate hcurdship shewn. TEiaWS - DENIED Chester Kaiser, Sioux City, lA, requested permission to replace a mobile hone 53' from East Lost Lake, on Lot 3, Tradewells, Sverdri^ Township, letters received were read. AFter consideration, motion Wcis made by Victor Petterson, secx>nded by Daniel Oehler and unanimously carried, to allow placement of the mobile heme no less than 70 feet from lake, hardship being terradn, substandard lot of record, an inprovement over existing situation, with the old trailer being removed. KAISER - APPROVED Norbert L. & Ernestine M. Ewals, Dent, MM, requested permission to encloee existing 20' x 16' deck, cn Lot 1, Fawn Oaks Development, Big McDonald Lake inEdna Township. After oonsideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Crciig Anderson and carried with Ceirl Johnson voting "no", to deny, no adeejuate hardship shown. Floyd L. Malin, Maple Grove, MJ, requested a 100' set back for cxr>- struertion of dwelling on a trac± in G.L. 5, Seertion 6, Dead Lake Town­ ship on Dead Lake. AFter consideration, motion weis made by Victor Petterson to grant a variance, placing cabin 135' from the lake. The motion was secxnded by Carl Johnson but failed with John Everts, Craig Andersen and George Walter voting "no". Motion was then made by Victor Petterson to allcw placing the dwelling 150' from the lake. The motion was seconded by Crciig Anderson and carried with Carl Johnson voting "no". Hardship being terrain. Dorothy Morgen, Battle Lake, MN, requested permission to cxaistruc± a 16' X 22' garage 5'3" from road right-of-way on Lot 2, Ckeson Beach, Eagle Lake in Eagle Lake Tewnship. After consideration, moticxi was made by Viirtor Petterson, secaonded by John Everts and unanimously car­ ried, to approve as requested, hardship being terrain, substandard lot of record, and no precedence being set. EWALS - DENIED MELIN - APPROVED MORGEN - APPROVED Gerald Schultz, Ten Mile Lake Resort, Dalton, MN, reejuested permission to ranove a 3 bedrocm cabin and exchange for 3 additional canpsites in G.L. 3, Section 21 and G.L. 1, Section 28, Tunuli Tewnship on Ten Mile Lake.seconded by Craig Andersen and inanimously carried, to accept the rec- ermendation of the planning cemmission and grant two additional canp- sites after removal of the three bedrocm cabin.
