The cottage would be in line with the other existing cottages. The setback from the ordinary high water level will be 100' instead of the required 200'. The property is described as the South 550' of Government Lot ^, Section 16 of Dead Lake Township on Dead Lake, The audience was polled with the following individuals speaking in favor of the applicant's request: George Ressmeyer, Jim Hatlevig, Bob Whitman and Lenny Factor. There were no individuals speaking against the applicant's request. After consideration, motion was made by Bert Olson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to allow the applicant to add an additional cottage to the first tier of the resort with a setback from the ordinary high water mark of 100'. with the condition that the addition of this cabin to the first tier will be proportionately reduced from any development that may take place in the second or third tiers and that no more development will occur in the first tier. This additional cabin will be no closer to the lake than the existing cabins. In making his motion Bert Olson stated that the Planning Commission recommended that this variance request be granted. The additional cabin will be 90' from the south property line. GEORGE AND ELAINE RESSMEYER - APPROVED George and Elaine Ressmeyer, Burnsville, MN, requested a variance to construct a new house that would be 80' from the ordinary high water level and would be within the shore impact zone. The required setback from the ordinary high water level is 200' and the shore impact zone setback requirement is 100', With an 80' setback the house would be behind the building line. The property is described as part of Government Lot 4, Section 16 of Dead Lake Township on Dead Lake, The audience was polled with the following individuals speaking for the applicant's request: Jim Hatlevig, Bob Whitman, Lenny Factor and Paul Grabarkewitz. There were no individuals speaking against this request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and carried with John Everts abstaining, to grant the ~ applicant a 100' variance from the required 200' setback from the ordinary high water mark for the construction of a new house. Some of the Board members stated that the applicant has the ability to construct his new house outside of the shore impact zone area and that this Board should make every effort whenever possible to comply with this requirement of the ordinance. MARCIA STEINE - APPROVED Marcia Stelne, Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance to construct two additions to the existing building. One addition will be 66' from the ordinary high water mark and the other addition wilt be 70' from the ordinary high water mark. The required setback is 100'. The property Is descr ibed as part of Government Lot 3, Section 25 of Clitherall Township on Crane Lake, Alan Steifie represented the applicant at the hearing. The audience was polled w.ith no one speaking for (r against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Crai 1 Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve tne variance as requested.
