The statute states the County Board shall provide space for the Law Library, but it is unclear if rent can be charged. Motion by Portmann, seconded Stone and unanimously carried to direct the County Attorneys to send the letter to the Attorney General for his opinion and the County would abide by his interpretation and, if necessary, return the $1,000 per month rent it has charged the Law Library which was retroactive to January 1, 1992. They apparently took the meager profit they could garner and made little effort toward the upkeep of the property. We heard many com plaints about their methods of management. Although my wife and I have not yet met the Feltons, it is very obvious that they are making an honest effort to keep Spruce Lodge in respectable and presentable condition. They are cleaning the place up and are attempting to upgrade the area. Therefore, we would hope that your office would honor this and any future reguests the Felton's might make in regard to upgrading or improving their property, provided the requests meet current regulations for that area.
