EXPLAIN YOUR REQUEST:
Request is to add a 12' x 18' porch to an exsjLsting cabin measuring 14S 'Ft't FAS P S Loir.e I
The‘' attached drawing shows the proposed addition,
concrete.
I X 18'.
The floor and footings will be'
The structure will be wood frame.
The cabin is a rental unit,
with - Screen Porch and W.O.A.S. is the damage that is caused by renters.
The reason for more space is that the market for small cabins is limited and
calls for more living space for families.
The reason for not putting in more screen to comply
We believe it is important to our business to keep the units full for the short
season, and the more guests we have the more money is spent in the local area and
thus benefits local businesses. We don't believe this addition would cause any
negative &nv4mnmpntal effect to the urea.

DOUGLAS KRAMER - TABLED
Douglas Kramer, Henning, MN. requested a variance to be allowed to sell Lots 1 thru 19ofB&;
K Acres( Metes and Bounds Subdivision) as individual buildable lots. Each lot has 2,5 plus acres
with varying widths and depths. Due to changes in the Shoreland Ordinance not all of these lots
meet the minimum requirements. The property is located in Section 22 of Rush Lake Township
on Round Lake. Letters from the following individuals opposing the.granting of this variance
request were read for the record: Conrad and Elaine Engen, Howard and Mary Stoakes, Robert
Wasche, and G, J. Kavanaugh. A petition from the residents of the Round Lake Retreat Road,
containing eleven signatures, opposing this variance request was accepted and read for the
record. Speaking against the request was Ron Gunderson, Mr. Huwe, Gordon Baardsen, Gordon
Engen, Lynn Baardsen, Cathy DeCock, Elaine Engen and Jerry Kavanaugh. After much discussion
and consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and
unanimously carried, to table this request until the May meeting for further information
regarding the legal status of B & K Acres,
S. J. KLASSEN - APPROVED
S. J Klassen, Vergas, MN, requested a variance to use the string line test within the shore
impact zune for the construction of a 12' by 18' porch to an existing cabin. The property is
described as part of Government Lots 5 and 6, Section 4 of Dora Township on East Spirit Lake, A
letter from L. E. Anderson opposing the granting of this request was read for the record. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion
was made by Cecil Femllng, seconded by Bert Olson and unanimously carried, to grant the
variance as requested as the addition of the porch to the existing cabin will be no closer to the
lake than the existing structures and, also to grant a variance to the applicant from the shore
impact zone area as the present structures are alreacty inside the impact zone. This addition
will not cause any change to the topography.
ALLEN H. SCHROEDER - APPROVED
Allen H. Schroeder, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance of 75' from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 200' for the construction of a young stock housing for dairy heifers
on an M.P.C A. approved feed lot. Building will be located 125' from the ordinary high water
level The property IS described as Government Lot 1 of Section 12, of Fergus Falls Township
on an unnamed lake, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request.
After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by John Everts and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance of 75' from the required ordinary high water level setback of
200' for the construction of young stock housing for dairy heifers on an M.P.C.A. approved feed
lot. The Board stated that this is a logical location for this building. The drainage of this lot wiH
be away from the lake. The Board considered the historical situation as a portion of the original
buildings on this farm were constructed back in 1910 The Board stated that they are approving
this request based on the recommendation of Mark Stewart, a representative of theM P C.A ,
that.' 1(. Schroeder's request be approved by tne Boar d of Adjustnient,
