(8:34 p.m.) Harlow Case, Sub Lot 1 of Government Lot 2, Section 3 of Hobart Township by Grahm Lake, requested a variance of 26’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 30’ from the required top of bluff setback of 30’ for structural changes to an existing roof and for a 12’ by 24’ addition 74’ from the ordinary high water level and 0’ from the top of the bluff. Randall Mann, Chair, polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. A letter from Fred Harker in opposition to the variance as requested was read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Randall Mann made a motion, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship unique to the property had been shown that would allow for the granting of the variance as requested and there is adequate room to meet the setback requirements from the bluff and the ordinary high water level. The Board noted that they are approving any variance or variance(s) that the Land and Resources Department or the Planning Commission might require before they can grant to the applicant the necessary approvals/permits for the removal of the existing structure and/or the filling of the affect area once the structure as been removed.
