Minnesota Scenic Point Resort - Approved Scenic Point Resort, Terry Colton, Clitherall, MN, requested a variance to build a 20’ by 22’ addition to the east side of cabin 1 and to the west side of cabins 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and a variance to construct a 16’ by 30’ two story addition to the south side of cabin 5. The property is described as part of Government Lot 2, Section 13 of Clitherall Township by Lake Clitherall. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to build a 20’ by 22" addition to the east side of cabin 1. After additional discussion and consideration, motion was made by David Holmgren, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to build a 20’ by 22’ addition to the west side of cabins 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9. It should be noted that the proposed additions to cabins 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are single story additions. After additional consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, with Leona Zimmerman voting no, to approve a variance to construct a 16’ by 30’ two story addition to the south side of cabin 5. The proposed additions are approximately 33 to 35’ from the ordinary high water level. r Planning Commission November 1, 1995 Page 5 Fred & Helen Eisenhardt - Approved With Conditions; To control water and wave erosionRequest an interlocking retaining wall, of shoreline, to protect boathouse and birch trees from physical damage. The procedure we propose to use would best fit our particular shoreline because of tremendous amounts of lake debris that is washed up on our shore, by strong NW wind directions. We are concerned that the regular 3-1 shoreline riprap would not lend itself to our shoreline maintenance. However, should the proposed procedure not prove satisfactory, we would have to try some other procedure. The property is described as Pt. Government Lot 6 of Section 21, Hobart Township; Rose Lake (56-360), RD. Fred Eisenhardt and Pepper Eisenhardt represented the Application. A motion by Johnson, second by Lachowitzer to approve provided the property owner removes the retaining wall within 30 days if it should ever fail (as determined by Land & Resource). Voting: All members in favor. Terry Colton/Scenic Point Resort - Approved; Request the addition of a 12' x 20' bedroom and screened in area to cabins 5 & 8 and a 12' x 20' screened in area to cabins 9,6,4,3,2 - the additions will be built over existing patios. The property is described as Part of Government Lot 2 of Section 13, Clitherall Township; Clitherall Lake (56- 238), RD. Ms. Colton represented the Application. A motion by Trites, second by Olson to approve as presented.
