Motion
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to approve a variance
of 3’ from the required 18’ maximum height of a non-dwelling structure for the replacement of an existing barn, having
a height of 30’, with a 50’ by 100’ pole building having a height of 2T. It was noted that the replacement of the existing
structure will not create run off into the lake and that the overall height of the new structure will be 9’ less than the
existing structure.

After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil
Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 70’ from the required ordinary high
water level setback of 150’ for the installation of a sewage system 80’ from the ordinary high
water level as described on the applicant’s drawing. Hardship is a substandard lot of record and
the terrain features of the applicant’s property. It was noted that the applicant’s plan was very
well engineered.
Roger L. and Janet C. Swenson - Approved
Roger L. and Janet C. Swenson, Madison, MN, requested a variance of approximately 38’ from
the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the construction of a 30’ by 34’ 2-story
addition to an existing structure located approximately 62’Jrom the ordinary high water level.
The property is described as part of Lots 7 and 8, E-L-M Dale Beach, Clitherall Lake in Clitherall
Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
discussion and consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Cecil Femling
and carried with John Everts abstaining, to approve a variance of 38’ from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 100’ for the construction of a 30’ by 34’ 2-story addition to an existing
structure located 62’ from the ordinary high water level. Hardship is a substandard lot of record.
It was noted that the proposed addition will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the
existing structure and the addition is within the existing building line.

as the Northeast Corner of Government Lot 7, Section 6 of Sverdrup Township by Pleasant
Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
discussion and consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Robert
Schwartz and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 3’ from the required 18’ maximum
height of a non-dwelling structure for the replacement of an existing barn, having a height of 30’,
with a 50’ by 100’ pole building having a height of 2T. It was noted that the replacement of the

Dennis and Connie Loecken - Approved
Dennis and Connie Loecken, St. Joseph, MN, requested a variance of 120’ from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 200’ and a variance of 20’ from the required shore impact
zone setback of 100’ for the placement of a camper 80’ from the ordinary high water level. The
property is described as a 2.5-acre tract in Government Lot 2, Section 34 of Star Lake Township
by Dead Lake. The audience was not polled, as the applicants were the only persons in
attendance at this time. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Randall
Mann, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 120’ from
the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the continued use of a motorized
camper vehicle, with an unattached deck, as presently located 80’ from the ordinary high water
level with the condition that no permanent structure will be allowed at this setback location and
any permanent structure placed on this lot must be placed in a location that meets the setback
requirements of the ordinance. It was noted that the camper might be somewhat within the
building line at the 80’ setback.
