Edna We are writing to comment on the Conditional Use Permit requested by Paul Lake ResortA/Vayne and Jeanette Caughey. First, we have no objections with the Conditional Use Permit details but wish to add a few comments. In 2010 we applied for, and received, a Grade & Fill Permit (#5550) for our Paul Lake propeerty which stated "fill will (be) no higher than adjacent neighbors". We assume this is still the case. To help alleviate issues which arise now or in the future, we would be willing to apply for a Grade & Fill Permit to insure that elevations are keep consistent along the roadside portion of our lot both to the north and south. We would also request the name of the contractor selected for the job so we can coordinate any work we would like done. Regards, Larry & Deb Saizwedel i [ ;■ I received WG 05 20ft land & RESOURCE To: Otter Tail County Planning Commission Date: 08/03/2016 Re:Public Hearing - Paul Lake (56-335), RD 43736 West Lake Dr., Perham, MN 56573 From: Lynn Janisch - 43572 Lake Dr., Perham, MN 56573 In Favor Of: I am all for allowing the owners of this property to reclaim the land they have lost and reestablishing the use of one dwelling (another 3 bedroom cabin, or one seasonal camp site for one camper only) due to the high waters. I feel they have the right to rebuild what was on this property. Opposed To: I am opposed to allowing the addition of 2 seasonal campsites which gives them 6 additional seasonal campsites. On a small lake as Paul Lake this is allot of additional road and lake traffic. If 6 campsites were available that would mean a minimum of 2 cars per campsite per weekend for the residents and would be more as others are invited out to their campsite. This could be anywhere from 12 to 25 additional cars in this small area. In addition to the cars each tenant would probably have at least one boat or pontoon, possibly some jet ski’s, and then again the company invited out would bring more boats and jet ski’s. This could be an additional 15 to 30 more watercrafts in this small area per weekend and maybe more on the 4‘^ of July. Where would all these trailers be parked ? Probably on the road causing other issues. Also inviting more guests means more chances of zebra mussels or aquatic plants. My experience over the 30 years I have been on lakes is non land owners (renters and guests of owners), do not have the same respect, lake etiquette and curtsey as do the actual land owners. Whenever we have boats skiing to close to shore, jet ski’s to close to shore and causing issues, reckless watercraft operators, it is more often than not guests of people on the lake or renters. I purchased my property on this lake to have a safe and non-congested environment for my kids and grandkids.
