Huber, Faribault, Minnesota For: Construct and operate a 50 stall camper-trailer facility in conjunction with Mallard Bay Resort. See Copy of Hearing Notice. Lake: Stuart, No. 56-191 Location: Nidaros Township Township 132 Section 3 - Government Lot 8 Range 39 Lake Statistics: (as of 1967) 760 acres 7.5 Area: Shore Miles; Depth; Dwellings; Seasonal Permanent Resorts; Dwelling p/mile; 7.3 Acres of water p/dwelling: 40 45 10 3 13.1 Mr. Huber has an option to buy Mallard Bay Resort and also the adjacent land where camping areas will be located. (2 areas). Worthington Realty, Fergus Falls is the agent for the seller. The lake area under consideration is a very shallow portion of Stuart Lake. In fact, 437„ (304 acres) of entire lake is less than 15 feet deep. Median depth is 17 feet. The lake has had extreme annual lake level fluctuations of about 3 feet. Aquatic plant life is quite abundant in the lake consisting of bulrushes and submerged pondweeds, bladderworst, yellow water lily, claspingleaf, etc. Water color and turbidity are caused by algal bloom. Evidently this is not a spring fed lake as a temperature test indicated there was only a difference of one (1) degree between surface temperature and the temperature at a depth of 35 feet. Neauscus is common on fish from this lake. (2 out of 3 perch and 4 out of 6 walleyes as per sample taken by Department of Natural Resources). The lake is supporting large populations of largemouth bass and bluegills. The growth rate of bluegills is slow. Heavy walleye stocking of this lake in past years does not appear to have established a large walleye population. Carp are present in the lake. There are 35 platted lots on this peninsula with 75 foot frontage or less. Current regulations require 150 feet of frontage. In the area of lot square footage, the majority of the lots are less than 16,000 sq. feet and current regulations require 40,000 sq. feet. The proposed 50 stall trailer court, filled to capacity, would put more pressure on the lake than the 35 platted lots on the entire peninsula. Current road into the area from township road as shown is approximately 12 feet wide for first 1300 feet and 16 feet wide for next 600 feet up to Ukkelberg property(Ukkelberg's own point of this peninsula). (See Oslund preliminary copy of plat). There is no cul-de-sac at Ukkelberg property.
