I do not envy your position in trying to administer what can be a rather difficult ordinance to interpret and apply in many circumstances. From what I have seen, you do a very professional job. In speaking of this matter with my brother Eric, he has also expressed gratitude and respect for the work that you have done. Once again, thank you. Yours truly. Carl E. That application was approved by an unanimous vote of the Otter Tail County Board of Commissioners on March 22nd. My family wanted to let you know that your concerns as a neighbor to the resort are important to us and will be given consideration, and will continue to be given consideration in the future. As you know, we have taken great pride in our business and property. We take care to insure that our guests have an enjoyable and relaxing stay at the lake. That means keeping a clean and neat property, and making sure that no one acts in a discourteous or inconsiderate manner, whether toward our other guests, or toward our neighbors. If your mother, or other members of your family ever have any problems with our guests, or have other concerns regarding the use of the property, we would appreciate being notified immediately so that we can address those concerns. Remaining your good neighbor and friend is important to us. We hope you will appreciate the changes that will be made on the property over the next few years. This Spring work will be done to clean the property and attempt to improve its general appearance. Debris will be removed from the back, the fish cleaning house will be removed, and we will eliminate the dock. Over the next several years, Eric has plans to make improvements on both the interiors and exteriors of the cabins to improve their general appearance and function. (218)847-5646 FAX (218) 847-3950 CALLAWAY (218) 375-4411 Mr. Mike Benedict Page Two March 24, 1994 While we have never been great fans of fences at the lake which tend to erect barriers between people and obstruct lines of sight, we do appreciate the need for privacy. We would like to meet with you at your convenience this spring to discuss your concerns along these lines and possible solutions. Once again, your concerns have been well taken. We look forward to meeting with you this spring. I hope your mother has been well and has been having a good Winter. Please give her our regards. Yours truly. Carl E. We would like the planning commission to deny this petition in total or to postpone the decision for a more convenient time for us to attend the meeting to discuss our concerns. Mrs. Benedict is presently in Cali fornia and is unable to be at the meeting. Our family has owned this property for over 20 years, and it was purchased knowing that we had a buffer property between our property and the commercial property of Madsen's Resort. Our main concerns center around such issues as decreased property value, potential liability issues, noise and safety concerns. In a conversation with Mr. Madsen last fall he intimated that he personally or his family would be moving into the property. If that is the case we would welcome and look forward to having the Madsens' as neighbors. Thank you for your consideration. f. Mike Benedict BBfTTl 1!!
