It is my opinion that the Schmidts as vendees and in possession of the subject premises have the legal right to make any and all reasonable and necessary improvements on the real estate without the necessitjf of securing the consent of the Backora's as vendors. Schmidt's request for a Special Use Permit to remove approximately 5,000 cubic yards of material from a knoll approximately 300 feet from the ordinary high water mark. SUBJECT: The following owners of property along the north shore of East Lost Lake known as Heaton's Resort Area do hereby object and protest the proposed request. We object for the following reasons: 1. The hauling of this much material will cause serious damage to the township road. 2. The natural beauty of the area will be destroyed and will have an environmental impact on the area, the depression caused by the removal could cause a change in the natural drainage pattern. The depression could be left to fill with water causing a health hazard for children in the area and also contribute to the mosquito population. Lake shore owners do not want an abandoned -ilrt or g'^avel pit in their back yards. 4. Property values can be reduced by the appearance of the area caused by the removal, perhaps the Otter Tail Lake property owners can find a knoll within 150 feet of the back of their properties to use as material for their sewer system. We have a strong feeling that they would object. 5. We also feel that setting a'hearing for as important a matter as this is for 9:30 P.M. on the day before a national holiday, July 4th is poor timing.
