Printers, Fergus Falls. Minnesot I Page 4. October 1st. 1992 Marlin Swanberg - Approved Marlin Swanberg, Brainerd, MN, requested a variance to split an existing parcel into three parcels. A surveyor's drawing is on file for review. Parcel B-1 will be transferred and permanently attached to the adjoining parcel of land lying immediately to the north and parcel B- 3 will be transferred and permanently attached to the adjoining parcel of land lying immediately to the south. The remaining metes and bounds parcel (B-2) does not meet the subdivision controls ordinance as it is less than 2.5 acres, but it does meet the minimum shoreland requirements for a platted lot on this lake. The property is described as part of Government Lot 1, Section 22 of Otter Tail Township on Otter Tail Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve the request as presented by the applicant. These parcels have access to a public road and the remaining parcel B-2 meets the minimum shoreland requirements for a platted lot on this lake. i Milo and Marjorie Larson - Denied Milo and Marjorie Larson, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of approximately 52' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the extension of an existing deck to the north end of the applicant's home to make a sun porch. The property is described as part of Government Lot 3, Section 33 of Dunn Township on Lake Lizzie. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by Bert Olson and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown. Randal and Joan Hutmacher - Approved Randal and Joan Hutmacher, Ottertail, MN, requested a variance to place 5 condos on the applicant's property. The square footage of the applicant's property would allow for 8 condos. The applicants are requesting that they be allowed to place 5 condos in the first tier and forgo the total of eight that would be allowed if placed in the first and second tier. The property is described as Lots 4 and 5, Block 1 and part of Lot 2, Block 2 of Blain Heights, Otter Tail Lake in Otter Tall Township. The audience was polled with the following individuals speaking against the variance request: Dean Greenwaldt, Sharon Bjork, Victor Lundeen, Jr., and Harvey Gilbertson. Letters from the following individuals opposing the granting of this variance request were read for the record: Duane S. and Miml H. Carlson, Margaret Moeller, Dean and Lynn Greenwaldt, Thomas Volden, President of the Lake Region Recreation Center, Harvey and Bonnie Gilbertson, Lloyd W. Telschow, Timothy S. O'Gara, Edgar and Arlene Deal. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sorenson. Mr. and Mrs. David Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Halvorson, Mr. and Mrs. Helmut Schrum, Mr and Mrs. Eugene Beirne, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Bjork, and Darlene Zosel. After much discussion and consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve the varlan^requesTfor the placement of 5 condos in the 1st tier, that being the maximum number of condo units for this piece of property, with a setback of 175' from the ordinary high water mark as established by the Land and Resource Management Department and with the condition that there be no additional condos in any additional tiers and that the Board of Adjustment's decision is subject to the action and decision of the Planning Commission as they review the environmental impact and district impact later this month. It is the general feeling of the Board that the terrain and topography of the property does not support more than one tier of buildings. Hardship being the terrain and topography towards the front of this property. i
