ifLarry J. Kohler. Detroit Lakes. MN. requested a variance per the exhibits on file for cabin unit
relocation and additions, to improve the esthetic and environmental values. The property is
described as part of Government Lot 1, Section 11, Dunn Township on Pelican Lake, The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against this request. After consideration,
motion was made by Cecil Fern ling, seconded by Victor Petterson and unanimously carried, to
approve the five year plan as presented in the variance and as approved by the Planning
Commission. Mr. Kohler's 5 year plan will improve upon the existing conditions of his
prnperty.

CLARENCE T. GEORGE - APPROVED ;
IClarence T. George, Wahpeton, ND, requested a variance to replace an existing mobile home 12'
by S5’ with a 16' by 80' mobile home, also requesting a variance from the lot line setback of 7'
on the north side and 4’ on the south side. Required lot line setback is 10'. Will have a 3'
setback on the north side and a 6' setback on the south side, The property is described as N'LY
25' of E'LY 229' of that part south of road of Lot 15, Camp Hatton, Otter Tail Lake in Amor
Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against this request. A letter
from Francis and Rita Quinlan against the granting of this variance request was read for the
record. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and
unanimously carried, to approve the replacement of the 12' by 55' mobile home with a 16' by
80' mobile home and to grant a 7' variance from the required 10' setback on the north property
line and a 4' variance from the required 10' setback on the south property line with the
condition that the mobile home cannot be placed any closer to the lake than what the string test
would permit. Hardship being a substandard lot of record.

David G. Boatz, Fargo. ND. requested a variance to exceed the maximum height limitation of 18'
on a detached garage. The property is described as Lots 12 andl 3. Klines and Adams 2nd
Addition and Lot 11, Hutmachers Add'n, Marion Lake in Dead Lake Township. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against this request. After consideration, motion was made by
Craig Anderson, seconded by Victor Petterson and unanimously carried, to grant the applicant
the opportunity to change his site permit application from the requested 20’ by 24' garage to
that of a dwelling. This structure is located on a separate lot ahd.if it is consider a dwelling the
height restriction is no longer a problem.
