MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance
of 100' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for the construction of a 30' by 80'
structure and a variance of 10' from the 18' maximum height requirement for the construction of a 55‘ by 80'
by 28' Multi-Purpose Structure. The board expressed concerns that the Bible camp continue to follow through
with its future plans to reduce the number of occupants that the camp would have at any one time.

George P, Montplaisir, Fargo, ND, requested a variance of 44' from the required ordinary nigh water level
setback of 100' to enclose an existing screen porch located 56' from the ordinary high water level and a
variance of 50' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the construction of a deck,
with a height in excess of 3', 50' from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 13,
Schermerhorn Beach, West McDonald Lake in Dora Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking
for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by George Walter, secondaJ by Craig Anderson
and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as the existing screened porch is already beyond the
string line and the applicant should be able to be in better compliance with the ordinance due to the size of the
applicant's property.
Myron W. Holland - Approved
Myron W, Holland, Fargo, ND, requested a variance of 50' from the required ordinary high water level setback
of 100' for the construction of an 1 1' by 33' addition and for the enclosure of an existing petio located 50'
from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as the south one-half of Lot 12 and Lot 13
except 55'. North Star Beach, Lake Lizzie in Dunn Township. Letters from Larry Orpen, Kurt and Bunny Olson
and Harvey and Ethel Fernow in favor of the variance request were read for the record. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts,
seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a 50' variance from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 100' for the enclosure of an existing 5' by 22' patio located 50' from the ordinary
high water level with the condition that the existing boat house will be removed before any building permits
are issued. After additional discussion and consideration, motion was made by Carl Johnson, seconded by
Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 50' from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 100' for the construction of an 1 1' by 33' addition 50' from the ordinary high water level.
Inspiration Point - Approved
Inspiration Point, Clitherall, MN, requested a variance of 100' from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 200' for the construction of a 30' by 80' structure (Sleeping Rooms) and a variance of 1 O' from the
18' maximum height requirement for the construction of a 55' by 80' by 28' Multi-Purpose Structure. If the
first variance request is granted the applicant will relocate the three guest cabins which are presently located
47' from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as a 20 acre tract in Government Lot 5,
Section 1 7 of Leaf Mountain Township on Spitzer Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or
against the request. A letter from Jim Burkett expressing concerns with the variance request was read for the
record. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance of 100' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for the
construction of a 30' by 80' structure and a variance of 10’ from the 18' maximum height requirement for the
construction of a 55' by 80' by 28' Multi-Purpose Structure. The board expressed concerns that the Bible

Lloyd M. Manselle - Approved
Lloyd n. Manselle, Deer Creek, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a parcel of less then 2.5 acres. The
property is described as part of the W1 /2 SW1 /4, Section 25, of Deer Creek Township. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Carl Johnson
seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve the variance to subdivide a parcel of less than
2.5 acres as requested by the applicant.
Richard Allen Nyhus - Approved
Richard Allen Nyhus, Henning, MN, requested a variance of approximately 85' from the required ordinary high
water level setback of 100’ and a variance of approximately 35' from the required shore impact zone setback
of 50' for an addition and remodeling project to an existing structure. The property is described as Lots 10
and 11, Linden Park, East Battle Lake in Girard Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or
against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femlingand
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of approximately 85' from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 100' and a variance of approximately 35' from the required shore impact zone setback of 50' for an
addition and remodeling project to an existing structure as indicated on the applicant's drawing (corners facing
the lake will have a 45 degree slant). The addition can be no closer to the lake than the existing structure and
the granting of the variance will make the structure more accessible for a wheel chair.
Gerhard M. Dahtke - Approved
Gerhard M, Dahlke, Dent, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 2.5 acres (approximately
100' by 100') from an existing 3 acre parcel and to permanently attach the parcel to Lot 2, Block 1 of Dahlke
Addition, The applicant's home is located on Lot 2, Block 1 of Dahlke Addition and the drainfield that services
the home is located on the 100’ by 100' tract. The property is described as Lot 2, Block 1, Dahlke Addition,
Dead Lake in Star Lake Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. The
applicant was represented at the hearing by Julian Wold. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil
Femling, seconded by Carl Johnson and unanimously carried, to approve the subdivision of a 100' by 100'
tract from an existing 3 acre parcel with the condition that the 100' by 100' tract will be permanently
attached to Lot 2, Block 1 , Dahlke Addition. This tract will not have residential development.
Larry C. Miller - Approved
Larry C. Miller, Wahpeton, ND, requested a variance of approximately 1.5' from the required side lot line
setback of 10' for a 16' addition to an existing structure 8.5' from the side lot line. The property is described
as part of Government Lot 1, Section 2 of Everts Township on Otter Tail Lake. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the request. A letter from Wilfred Heitkamp opposing the variance request was
read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of approximately 1.5' from the required side lot line setback of
10’ for a 16' addition to an existing structure 8.5' from the side lot line. The addition will be no closer to the
side lot line than the existing structure.
