After additional consideration Mark Steuart withdrew his second. This motion eventually died for lack of a second. After additional consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by Richard Sha to require a setback of 65’ from the ordinary high water level for all units with a current setback of less than 65’ and to approve the size of the units as specified in the material provided with the application. This motion failed with Cecil Femling, Paul Larson and Mark Steuart voting no. After additional consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, second by Mark Steuart to require a setback of 70’ from the ordinary high water level for all units with a current setback of less than 70’ and to approve the size of the units as specified in the material provided with the application. The existing structure is approximately 73’ from the ordinary high water level. The proposed structure would not extend any closer to the lake than existing foundations, decks or stairs. We will be removing an 11 ’ by 3.5’ existing porch to reduce the existing infringement on the sideline setback requirement. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. From our ■-- / . und^rstandlrig, the request submitted by the Head Lake Campground Association is for i ¥^y new mobile homes on existing lots with a distance of 36’ - 72’ from ■ ■, ' TAfter att^ding the planning board meeting in July, the discussion centered around a :'S, 70’ or'gra^^set back of frie mobile homes from the lake shore. There are already 9 niobUe|iici^ that range from 36’ to 72’ back from the lake which is well inside the 200’ sefli^y^^'shore management We along with many others on Head Lake had to abide by the 200' set back from shore. We realize this is somewhat of a hardship with the 200’ rule but 36’ is much too close especially for an environmental fake. We believe the upgrade of existing or new mobile homes is warranted; however, a set back of at least 125’ should be enforced. The well being of the lake Is very important A minimum of a 125’ set back should at least help those wanting to improve their lots and yet protect the lake and its environment Thank you. I am a property owner on the iSouth side of Head Lake and have no objections to the conditional use pomits for the 10 mobile home sites that you have indicated. I feel That the upgrading of these mobile home sites on Head Lake will only serve to inaprove the area and ultimately property values for all concerned.
