The property is described as Lots 15 and 16, Clear Beach Resort, Fish Lake in Aurdal Township. The audience was polled with neighbors of the applicant speaking to this variance request. The neighbors would like to have the high water mark located on Fish Lake. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to grant this variance request based on the measurements presented by the applicant, subject to the measurements being reviewed by the Land and Resource Department, Melvin A. The property is described as Lot 9 and a tract between platted lot and lake. Blue Herron Beach, Otter Tail Lake in Otter Tail Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Bert Olson and carried with John Everts abstaining, to approve a variance of 6' 6" from the required road right-of-way setback of 20' for the replacement of a flat garage roof with a new roof that will match the roof on the dwelling. The garage must be a single story structure and cannot exceed 18' in height. The applicant's request is reasonable, It is a lot of record and a building of record. Lazy Acres Investors, Dennis Dalzlel - Withdrawn Lazy Acres Investors, Dennis Dalziel, Frazee, MN, requested a variance to have 14 units in a cluster development. The present lake frontage and parcel area would only allow for 13 units. The property is described as part of Government Lot 3, Section 2 and the west 1 /2 of Lot 4 and Lots 5 thru 10, Ryans Beach, Little McDonald Lake in Edna Township, Prior to the hearing the applicant decided to withdraw his request. Curt R. Leach - Approved Curt R, Leach, Glyndon, MN, requested a variance of 5' 6" from the required side lot line setback of 1 O' and a variance of 1 O' from the required 10' building setback from a septic tank for the location of a storage shed. The property is described as a tract lying north of the road between Lots 10 and 1 1 of Viking Bay Beach, except the west 160', and the west 5' of Lot 1 1, Viking Bay Beach, Pelican Lake in Dunn Township, A letter from Erling and Emma Kvale opposing the granting of this variance request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 5' 6" from the required side lot line setback of I O' and a variance of 10' from the required 10’ building setback from a septic tank for the location of a storage shed. Hardship being a substandard lot of record. The applicant has no other non-dwelling structures and the septic system will not be affected by the granting of this variance request. Solveig Glasoe Halbakken - Approved Solveig Glasoe Halbakken, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance from the top of a bluff and from the bluff impact zone for the construction of a 28' by 55' structure, with an attached 10' by 55' deck, setback 103' from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lots 10 and 1 1, Oakridge Beach, Otter Tail Lake in Amor Township. Neil and Arne Gudmestad, potential purchasers, represented the applicant at this hearing. The audience was polled with Jack Banner speaking to this request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Bert Olson and carried with Craig Anderson abstaining, to approve a variance from the top of a bluff and from the bluff impact zone for the construction of a 28' by 55' structure, with an attached 10’ by 55' deck. setback 103' from the ordinary high water level with the condition that there will be no excavation in the bluff impact zone and the structure will not have a walkout basement. There should not be a drainage problem as the terrain slopes away from the crest of the hill towards the west away from the lake. The applicant's building plan does not call for a dwelling with a walkout basement.
