Minnesota J ■/!,r MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT March 3 , 1988 The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, March 3, 1988 with the following persons present; George Walter John Everts Craig Anderson David Trites Dan Oehler Tim Greip, Land & Resource Management » David Hauser, Assistant County Attorney George Walter called the meeting to order at 7;00 p.m., turning the Chair over to Secretary Sylvia Bergerud for the selection of Chairman for the year 1988. Motion was made by Craig Anderson to select George Walter Chairman for 1988. Motion was made by John Everts, seconded by David Trites and unanimously carried, that nominations cease and George Walter was declared Chairman for 1988. Everts to nominate Craig Anderson as Vice Chairman for 1988. made by John Everts, seconded by David Trites and carried, that nomina­ tions cease and Craig Anderson was declared Vice Chairman for the year 1988. CALL TO ORDER WALTER - CHAIRMAN ANDERSON - V CHAIR. Motion was then made by John Motion The following applications for variance were considered; Deland Arno Porath, Perham, MN, requested permission to construct a 24* X 50' garage on top of hill, five feet from west property line, on the East 150' of G.L. 4, Section 15, Edna Township in Paul Lake. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson to approve, with the understanting that construction will be as far away from the lot line as possible, but no closer than five feet from said line. A 14' x 38' building on the lot is to be removed. Hardship being the terrain of the lot. The motion was seconded by George Walter and carried unani­ mously. Keith Lein, Fergus Falls, MN, represented by his father, requested per­ mission to split a 20,250 square foot parcel out of G.L. 1, NEisNE's, Section 32, Oscar Township, near an unnamed lake, without platting. Motion was made by Craig Anderson to approve, provided the description be in right angles in even feet with one of the lot lines being a govern­ ment survey line, hardship being farm land with transfer of property from one generation to the other being used in Minnesota for many years, in the transfer of ownership to son. The motion was seconded by John Everts and carried unanimously. PORATH - APPROVED LEIN ■- APPROVED Faith Haven Youth Lodge, Battle Lake, MM, requested permission to con­ struct second story addition on existing cottage, 55' variance from lake setback, on W 850' of G.L. 1, Section 10, Eagle Lake Township on Eagle Lake.the second story addition, no larger than existing foundation, permission to do so will allow the same rights and privileges as others in the area enjoy, with virtually no other building in the area in compliance with the setback ordinances. The motion was seconded by Craig Anderson and carried unanimously. Chester Hollingsworth, represented by Donna Boll, Boll Realty, tabled from December, requesting permission to split and sell one parcel without platting, was returned for final action. Motion was made by Craig Ander­ son to deny, no hardship shown, as to uniqueness of property, terrain; etc., to approve variance from platting requirements, with additional area remaining for potential further subdivision. The motion was seconded by John Everts and carried unanimously.
