Bid Opening Date - CSAH No. 35 Etc. Highway Engineer, Rick West, requested a bid opening date for reconstruction of CSAH 35 south of Dent (1.2 miles); bituminous surfacing, Glendalough State Park (1 1/2 miles); bituminous surfacing, Tordenskjold Township, Stalker/Long Lake Road; bituminous overlay. County 111 (6 miles); and Fergus Falls Township, Woodland Heights (yet to be determined). Motion by Lindquist, seconded Lee and unanimously carried to establish bid opening date for 1:00 p.m. June 11, 1996, for the above listed projects. Correspondence Acknowledged Chair Portmann read a letter received from Koochiching County regarding the AMC representation process. Koochiching County requested a letter of support for a regional counties’ association. No action was taken. Chair Portmann acknowledged a letter from Tom Worth, President of the Boundary Waters Treaty Coalition. The letter urged support for the enforcement of the 1909 Boundary Waters Treaty. No action was taken. Inc.Approved; A Conditional Use Application to place clean washed sand over the rip rap, the total area (the sand is to be placed in 2 different areas) would be about 8' X 210' long by about 6" in depth. The reason for the sand is to cover the rocks and keep kids from twisting their ankles on these rocks or slipping on them. The property is legally described as W 850' of G.L. 1 Located in NEl/4 NEl/4 Ex Tr of Section 10 of Eagle Lake Township; Eagle Lake (56-253), GD. John Olson and Lowell Salvevold represented the Application. A motion by Johnson, second by Lachowitzer to approve the Application as presented. Voting: All members in favor. The Commission took a 5 minute break from 7:25 to 7:30. Joel Heoerle % Taylor Inv. Corp./"East Indian Shores" - Tabled; A Preliminary Plat of " East Indian Shores" consisting of 3 residential lots along with a Conditional Use Application to construct a minor service road adjacent to Highway #33 to provide access to the 3 lots and utilizing the existing approach servicing the property. The property is legally described as Pt of Gov. Lot 7 of Section 22 of Dane Prairie Township; Indian Lake (56- 639), NE. Joel Hegerle, Scott Sealy (Taylor Inv.) and Terry Anderson (Surveyor) represented the Applications. Crystal Bernard expressed concerns regarding the possibility of there being Indian Mounds on this parcel; Scott Leinen expressed concerns regarding the building pads and questioned how the parcel could be developed without destroying a beautiful piece of property - he requested Land Management go onsite; Charlie Revering asked the Commission if condos could be put on the parcel. A motion by Trites, second by Estes to table (permission was granted by the Applicants) the request to June 5, 1996 in order to allow time for the following: Officials regarding the possibility of Indian Mounds being onsite.
