Motion by Lee, second by Froemming, and unanimously carried to approve a Preliminary Plat
consisting of 14 single family residential lots known as “The Woods by Bluestem” with
conditions as recommended by the Planning Commission. The property is described as Lots

A Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant): Construct approx. 955 ft. of
roadway plus turn around area. The ROW is laid out with a 66 ft. width and the road
surface is 24 ft. wide. This road will replace a single track cartway that is inadequate for
present traffic. Approx. 368 net cubic yds of fill will come from the borrow areas or be
trucked in. The property is described as Pt of GL 5, Section 16 of Hobart Township: Rose
Lake (56-360), RD.
H. Kent Adams represented the Application.
Motion: A motion by Erickson, second by Boyer to approve with conditions: 1. The
Applicant must work with Land & Resource Management regarding an erosion control plan.
2. The Applicant has until October 1, 2005, to complete this fall’s earthmoving. 3. The
project must be completed by September 1, 2007. Voting: All Members in favor.
Crystal Lida Resort / Michael McNabb - Approved As Presented:
A Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant): mobile home (Site #23).
Current deck will be reused with no other changes made. Currently have: 23 Mobile
Homes, 5 RV’s, 5 Cabins and 1 Residence. The property is described as Lot 14 BIk 1 &
that pt Lot 15 ...Crystal Lida Beaches, Section 14 and Lots 1, 2 & 3 BIk 6 & Lots 1,2 & 3
Blk 7, Crystal Lida Beaches, Section 11 of Lida Township; Lake Lida (56-747), GD.
Kent Kovarik and Mike McNabb represented the Application.
Motion: A motion by Maske, second by Arno to approve as presented. Voting: All
Members in favor.
Paul Baarson et al - Approved With A Condition:
A Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant): I am applying for a
Conditional Use Permit to construct a year-round dwelling to replace the seasonal dwelling.
Size of 24' wide x 30’ deep; meeting the guidelines of the Variance permit approved 7-14-
05 of 37.5’ from the OHW. This dwelling will consist of a double garage on the ground floor
with living quarters and deck on 2'"^ floor and a loft. This dwelling will meet or be below the
35’ maximum height limit as stated in the Shoreland Mgmt. Ordinances of OT County. (This
is a 3 unit Cluster Development.) The property is described as Pt GL 1 com NW cor GL 1
S 2575.96’ to beg S 136.97’ E 135’ to lake NLY 137’ W 139’ to beg (.43 AC), Section 26 of
Rush Lake Township: Rush Lake (56-141), GD.
Mary Schommer represented the Application.
Motion: A motion by Arno, second by Wilson to approve subject to the Applicant acquiring
the road right-of-way to square off the lot to match the drawing provided with the Variance
Application dated June 15, 2005. Voting: All Members in favor.
Discussion: Bill Kalar discussed with the Commission some of the requirements for an
Environmental Assessment Worksheet. No formal action was taken.
Adjourn: At 9:45 P.M., Chairman Olson set the Meeting. The next Meeting is scheduled
for 6:30 P.M. on September 14, 2005.
