(701)293-4001FIRST REALTY-ENCORE RECEIVED mar 3 1 2003 Bert Olson Planning Commission Ottertail County Courthouse 121 Junius Fergus Falls, MN 56537 lands RESOURCE Dear Mr. Olson: I am writing to express my support for Dan and Jane Wood’s application for ten more campsites at Crosspoint Resort on South Lake Lida. I own property about three hundred feet to the south of the resort’s northern most boundary. Dan and Jane have been wonderful neighbors and good stewards of the property. Noise has never been an issue, they keep their property neat and clean, and they take an interest in the concerns of all their neighbors. I know it is becoming increasingly difficult for resort owners in MN to make a decent living - many causes and no easy solutions. I’m concerned that if Dan and Jane can’t make a go of it at Crosspoint Resort it will eventually revert to single lots or cluster housing of some kind. Enjoying time at the lake has long been a benefit of living or vacationing in MN lake country. T grew up in Pelican Rapids, will retire on South Lida, and hate to think that only people with money can have that lifestyle. I speak from experience - I sell real estate and it saddens me to see the prices of cabins on decent lakes skyrocket the way it has the past few years. Operations like the Wood’s keep “being at the lake” affordable for people who can’t buy a cabin on a single lot. Please work with them. If you have any cmeistipns, please fell free to call. I can be reached at 701-729-7765 or at 701- 280-'2409. ///J 'jim Shipp 3402 Bohnet Blvd. Fargo, ND www.fmrealestate.coin When You Need An Address, Try Ours! t=rEach Office is Independenfly Owned And Operated.(QUUOW)HlXi&WCHTUNITV OTTER TAIL COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING APPLICANT:Cross Point Resort Daniel & Jane Wood 39870 Cross Point Ln Pelican Rapids MN 56572 HEARING DATE/LOCATION: April 9, 2003 at 7:30 P.M. ** Commissioner's Room, Otter Tail County Courthouse (Use the West Law Enforcement Entrance) 121 WJunius Fergus Falls, MN 56537 PROJECT DESCRIPTION (AS STATED ON THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION): Request to increase campsite licensure from 18 to 28.
