mously carried, the following applications for sewage disposal system

Motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by Mel 0. Olson and unani
mously carried, to uphold the decision of the Otter Tail County Planning Commission and deny the application of Ralph Roforth, Rush Lake
Township, to cut a ramp area to lake.
CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT DENIED
Motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unani
mously carr’>-'i, to schedule a hearing to be held Wednesday, June 1,
1988, at 2:uu h-ui- in the County Commissioners Room, Courthouse
Fergus Falls, MN for the purpose of hearing from various interested
parties, on the proposed surface water ordinance for Round Lake in
Rush Lake Township.
HEARING - ROUND LAKE
WATER SURFACE ORD.
Fred Moen of Corporate Risk Management, the County's insurnace con
sultant, appeared before the Board and discussed the contract with
the County, stating an additional provision has been inserted in
the contract to include a 30 day cancelation clause. Motion was made
by Mel 0. Olson, seconded by Sydney Nelson and unanimously carried,
to approve the contract, subject to review and approval by the County
Attorney.
CORP.RISK MANAGERS
A request from Sverdrup Township for reimbursement in the amount of
$315.00 for the taking of 21 beavers was presented to the Board.
Motion was made by Andy Lindquist to approve payment, but the motion
died for lack of a second.
BEAVER CONTROL
SVERDRUP TOWNSHIP
Erwin Siems, County Assessor, discussed with the Board assessing for
Leaf Lake Township, stating a check in the amount of $1,600 had been
received from Leaf Lake Township, which is $500.00 less than the
amount the county had agreed upon. Motion was made by Andy Lindquist,
seconded by Mel 0. Olson u.d unanimously carried, to accept the check
as partial payment, instructing the County Attorney to write to the
township requesting the additional $500.00 as previously offered by
the County Board.
Siems also informed the Board additional townships are requesting
assessing to be done by the County Assessor's staff, which he indicated
would require additional part-time help. No formal action taken.

A motion by Lachowitzer, second by Femling to approve the
conditional use application of Gary Dean Benson, Marion Lake,
56-243, GD, on Outlot A Heinrich Bch, Section 2, Dead Lake
Township as presented. Reason being that the addition meets
the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail County
requirements and that it is compatible with the area.
Approved:
Voting: Motion carried.
A motion by Stringer, second by Olson to approve the
conditional use application of Michael D. & Janet L. Stras,
Stalker Lake, 56-437, RD, on a metes and bounds tract. Section
27, Tordenskjold Township the westerly end of which would be
the westside of the house going towards the lake, then going
easterly 75', this is subject to rip rapping all the area in
front according to DNR specifications, must leave at least a
12" lip at the lowest point; must sod the area that is left
disturbed; the soil that is removed can be placed in an area
5' from the lotline and 60' back from the lake.
Motion Failed:
Voting; Motion failed.
A motion by Femling, second by Lee to deny the conditional use
application of Michael^_D^_& Janet L. Stras, as it is a
consistent judgement of this board not to abuse, disturb or do
any work on an ice ridge.
Denied:
Voting; Motion carried.
A motion by Petterson, second by Femling reconsidering the
conditional use application of Michael D. & Janet L. Stras,
this motion would suspend the denial; reason being that Tom
Stringer would not move an ice ridge unless it be a unique
situation.
Reconsidered:
Voting; Motion carried.
A motion by Stringer, second by Hatling to table the
conditional use application of Michael D. & Janet L. Stras
until the May meeting and that other members of this
Commission should go out and view the area.
Tabled:
Voting; Motion carried.
The Commission discussed whether or not the recording
secretary should indicate who votes yes and who votes no
and/or if the minutes should indicate who viewed the property
- it was decided that the chairman will call the motion as
"carried" or "failed" and that the recording secretary need
not indicate the yes and no votes.
