Steve Hannig - Denied Sun Room/ Approved Second Story Addition.
Motion was made by Randall Mann, second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variances as
requested for the addition of a sun room and to approve a variance of 4' from the required top of bluff setback of 30’
and variances of 5’ and 24’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for a second story addition to
an existing structure 26’ from the top of the bluff, 76’ from the ordinary high water level on the front side of the dwelling
and 85’ from'the ordinary high water level on the back side of the dwelling. The granting of the variance as modified
will provide a reasonable use of this property.

Perham Cooperative Creamery Association - Approved
Perham Cooperative Creamery Association, Perham, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a tract less than
2.5 acres without a plat. The proposed tract adjoins a platted public road and contains an existing commercial
building. If approved the tract to be subdivided will be surveyed. The proposed tract will be approximately
one-half acre. The property is described as part of Lot 1, Oasis Acres in Perham Township. The audience
was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall
Mann, second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested noting that
this is a commercially developed area on the south side of the City of Perham.
Vernon Tabbut-Approved as modified.
Vernon Tabbut, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance of 55’ from the required lot line setback of 65’ for the
placement of a water oriented accessory structure 10’ from the west lot line and 65’ from the east lot line. The
property is described as Lot 10, Morrill Addition, Long Lake in Elizabeth Township. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration and discussion, motion was made by
Mark Steuart, second by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to approve the placement of a water
oriented accessory structure 20’ from the ordinary high water level and centered on the lot. Hardship is a
substandard lot of record.
Leaf Lake Partnership - Approved
Leaf Lake Partnership, Minneapolis, MN, requested a variance of 50’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 100’ for an addition to an existing cabin 50’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is
described as part of Government Lot 2, Section 23 of Leaf Lake Township by East Leaf Lake. The audience
was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by David
Holmgren, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested with the
condition no part of the proposed development (addition) can be placed within the shore impact zone. The
ground level addition must be to the rear of the existing structure and any second story addition must be
outside of the shore impact zone. Hardship is a substandard cluster development.

variance of 24’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the addition of a sun room 26’
from the top of the bluff and 76’ from the ordinary high water level. Also requesting a variance of 4’ from the
required top of bluff setback of 30’ and variances of 15’ and 24’ from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 100’ for a second story addition to an existing structure 26’ from the top of the bluff, 76’ from the
ordinary high water level on the front side of the dwelling and 85’ from the ordinary high water level on the
back side of the dwelling. The property is described as the West 30’ of Lot 5 and all of Lot 6, Franklin Knoll,
Franklin Lake in Dunn Township. The audience was polled with Richard Lindstrom speaking for the request.
After consideration and discussion, motion was made by Randall Mann, second by Cecil Femling and
unanimously carried, to deny the variances as requested for the addition of a sun room and to approve a
variance of 4’ from the required top of bluff setback of 30’ and variances of 5’ and 24’ from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for a second story addition to an existing structure 26’ from the top of
the bluff, 76’ from the ordinary high water level on the front side of the dwelling and 85’ from the ordinary high
water level on the back side of the dwelling. The granting of the variance as modified will provide a
reasonable use of this property.
