Steven John Henry, Pelican Papids, MN, requested permission to move cabins, placing
36' frcm lake, on lot 6 & 7, Henry's Hill, Dunn Township. Cerald T-eiger appeared and*

was made by Craig Anderscsi to tcible. Motion was withdrawn. Motion was made ty Pager
Marty to deny, no hardship shown and not in the best interest of shoreland development.
The motion was seconded by John Everts and carried unanimously.
Duane Olson, Brooklyn Center, MN, recfuested permission to allow an existing mobile hone
to remain at 92' from lake, on Lot L, Auditor's Subdivision #110, Nidaros Itiwnship.
After consideration motion was made by John Everts to approve, hardship being terrain
with other people in the area enjoying the same rights and privileges, Ihe motion was
seconded by Craig Anderson and carried unanimously.

After consideration, motion was made by Roger Marty to approve hardship being a substan^

Helen Johnson. Richville, MN, requested permission to place an addition, 6' from
lot line, close to an existing sewer, on Lot 2, Camp Lingerlong, Amor Township.
After discussion and after listening to various interested parties, motion was made
by Tom Stringer, to deny. with a notation calling attention to the fact an addi
tional variance would be required from the 40' set back requirement, with no ade
quate hardship shown for all three variances. The motion was seconded by John Everts
and carried.
Steve Henry, Pelican, Rapids, MN, requested permission to allow a building to remain
in the road right-of-way, on Lots 6 & 7, Henry's Hill, Dunn Township.After listen
ing to various interested parties, motion was made by Tom Stringer to approve a 30
foot variance from the 40' set back requirement, best reasonable alternative on a
substandard lot, hardship being able to enjoy the same privileges as neighbors who
have structures that close to road, subject to written town board approval for the-.

made by Tom Stringer, seconded by Frank Lachowitzer and carried, to table.
C. M. Jacobson, Battle Lake, MN, requested permission to build an addition flush
with house, 6' from north lot line, on Lot 22, Pleasant Grove, Amor Township.
After discussion, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and
carried, to approve a 10' x 24' addition to house, 6' from lot line flush with
house, hardship being a narrow lot, not setting a precedent as there are others
in the area enjoying this privilege.
Jeanette Baker (Thomas Baker), Battle Lake, MN, requested permission to construct

OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
September 12, 1985
The Otter Tail County Board of Adjiastment met Thursday, September 12,
1985 in the Conmissioners Roan of the Otter Tail County Courthouse.
Chairman Walter declared the meeting open at 7:00 p.m., v/ith the fol
lowing members present:

Hearing no additions or corrections to the minutes of the September
5th meeting. Chairman Walter declared same approved as mailed.
The following applications for variance were considered:

Roland E. Viger, Fergus Falls, MN, requested permission to enlarge
deck by 2' x 20' and enclose area under existing deck, on Lot 15, Cedar
Park Club, Dane Prairie Township. After consideration, notion was made
by John Everts to allow enclosxore of 8' x 40' under existing deck, apply
ing the "string test", no adequate hardship shown for additional con
struction. The motion was seconded by Craig Anderson and carried unani
mously. Motion was then made by Roger Marty to allow Mr. Viger to build
up to the point applying the "string test" with the addition. The motion
was seconded by June Pyan and carried unanimously.

James C. Johnson, Pelican Rapids, MSI, requested permission to build on
an addition and garage to dwelling, 88' from lake, on the South of Lot
1, Block 3, Historic Monument Beach, Pelican Tbwnship. After considera
tion, motion was made by Craig Anderson to approve application as si±>-
mitted, hardship being a si±)standard lot of record, not creating any
further variance than \Ahat alreacy exists. The motion was seconded by
Roger Marty and carried unanimously.

16' X 24' addition to house, 45' from lake, on the S 25' of Lot 6 and
N 45' of lot 7, Henry's Hill, Dunn Township. After consideration,
motion was made by Craig Anderson, to approve, hardship being a substan
dard lot of record, not creating any further variance than vhat alreacty
exists. The motion was seconded by John Everts and carried unanimously.
Armond & Clare Pederson, Minneapolis, MN, represented by George Bauck,
requested permission to replace old dry-rotted storage building located
on the lakeshore, with a new low-profile storage building, on S.L. 1 &
2 of G.L. 3, Section 1, Perham Tcwnship. After consideration, motion
was made by John Everts to deny request, perpetuating a substandard
situation by allowing a new structure, no adequate hardship shewn. The
motion was seconded by Marcus Wiechnann and carried with Craig Anderson
and George Walter voting "no".

Ceylon A. Mudge, Golden Valley, MN, requested permission to divide parcel
of property in G.L. 4, Section 6, Girard Township, into two parcels with
150' frontage, each with approximately 34,490 square feet. After con
sideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson to approve on the cendition
the division is equal, hardship being able to enjoy the same rights and
privileges as nei^Tbors enjoy, said division of lots to be larger than
others in the neighborhood, would not establish a precedence, and no
further variances to be granted on property. The motion was seconded by
Roger Marty and carried with June pyan voting "no".
