Motion
Dean and Lynn Cafourek - Approved Ordinary High Water Level Variance and Denied Lot line Variance. (6:47
p.m.)
Motion was made by Paul Larson, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to deny the side lot line
variance as requested noting that there is adequate room to place the proposed development 10' from the side lot line
and to approve a variance of 54’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the replacement of the
foundation on the existing cabin, for the addition of a crawl space and for a 24’ by 26’ addition to the north side of the
existing dwelling being at least 46’ from the ordinary high water level and at least 10’ from the side lot lines. It was
noted that the proposed location is behind the existing string line. It was also noted that the variance as approved
does not directly or indirectly allow the applicants to cover more than 25% of the total lot area with impervious
surfaces. The applicants must comply with the impervious surface requirements.

Gerald M. Schultz and John P. Schultz - Approved as requested. (6:42 p.m.)
Gerald M. Schultz and John P. Schultz, part of Government Lot 3, Section 21 of Tumuli Township by North
Ten Mile Lake, requested a variance of 120’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for
placement of a 34’ by 44’ structure 80’ from the ordinary high water level. It should be noted that proposed
structure will replace an existing 34’ by 44’ structure, which is currently located 30’ from the ordinary high
water level. Mike Schultz appeared at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking
for or against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer,
second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 120’ from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 100' for the placement of a 34’ by 44’ structure 80' from the ordinary high water
level. It was noted that the proposed location is an improvement over the current structure location and the
proposed structure will be out of the shore impact zone. It was also noted that the use of proposed
structure would be the same as the use of the current structure.
Dean and Lynn Cafourek - Approved Ordinary High Water Level Variance and Denied Lot line
Variance. (6:47 p.m.)
Dean and Lynn Cafourek, Lot 4, Grobe Beach, Little Pelican Lake in Dunn Township, requested a variance
of T from the required side lot line setback of 10’ and a variance of 54’ from the required ordinary high
water level setback of 100’ for the replacement of the foundation of my existing cabin, for the addition of a
crawl space and for a 24’ by 26’ addition to the north side of the existing dwelling being 46’ from the
ordinary high water level and 9’ from the side lot line. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or
against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Paul Larson, second by
Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to deny the side lot line variance as requested noting that there is
adequate room to place the proposed development 10’ from the side lot line and to approve a variance of
54’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the replacement of the foundation on the
existing cabin, for the addition of a crawl space and for a 24’ by 26’ addition to the north side of the existing
dwelling being at least 46’ from the ordinary high water level and at least 10’ from the side lot lines. It was
noted that the proposed location is behind the existing string line. It was also noted that the variance as
approved does not directly or indirectly allow the applicants to cover more than 25% of the total lot area
with impervious surfaces. The applicants must comply with the impervious surface requirements.
Rodney and Nancy Smith - Approved as requested with conditions. (6:53 p.m.)
Rodney and Nancy Smith, Lot 53, Broadwater Beach and Lot 8, Block 2, Cha-Rosa Beach, Pelican Lake in
Dunn Township, requested a variance of 0’ from the edge of the septic tank which was installed in 1985
and met the requirements at that time. Present garage was built in 1985 on the lot in the present location
because we did not want to cut down mature oak and basswood trees. Request variance to raise the
roofline of the garage from present height of 12’ 1" to 19’ 11”. Height alteration is requested. Space would
be used for storage. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
discussion and consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by Cecil Femling and carried,
with Leona Zimmerman voting no, to approve a 0’ setback for the existing septic tank only with the
condition that the existing 10’ 9" by 8’ 3" boathouse must be removed, as well as, the other two areas
identified on the applicants’ drawing. It should be noted that when and if a new septic system is installed it
must meet the required setbacks. It was also noted that the variance as approved does not directly or
indirectly allow the applicants to cover more than 25% of the total lot area with impervious surfaces. The
applicants must comply with the impervious surface requirements.
