(8:45 p.m.) Gary and Kodell Stompro, Lot 1 Block 1 Plainview Sandy Beach Third Addition, Little McDonald Lake in Edna Township, requested the following: variance of 10’ from road right-of-way for placement of new shed 10’ from road right-of-way. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. Kelli Wegseheid represented the applicants at the public hearing. After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Jack Rosenthal and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship unique to the property had been shown that would allow for the granting of the variance as requested, the applicants have another alternative available that will provide them with a reasonable use of their property. Vale Dietz - Variance application approved as requested. (8:52 p.m.) Val Dietz, Lot 16 Block 2, Cair’s Subdivision, Otter Tail Lake in Amor Township, requested the following: Lot 16 is substandard by today’s standards, not meeting the square footage requirement as a back lot to Otter Tail Lake. Person wishing to purchase the lot wishes to put up a small dwelling for more room when children and grandchildren come to visit as he has only a 45’ lot on Otter Tail Lake. Building will have sewer and water. Request to have Lot 16 considered buildable for residential purposes. Minimum requirements for a non-riparian lot are 150’ lot width and 40,000 square feet of area. Paula Dietz appeared with the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Jack Rosenthal and unanimously carried, to declare Lot 16 Block 2 Can ’s Subdivision a buildable lot for residential puiposes. It was noted that the variance is consistent with past Board of Adjustment decisions and if also consistent with how other properties in this immediate area are being used. Big Pine Lodge - Revised Plan Approved. (8:55 p.m.) Big Pine Lodge, part of Government Lot 1, Section 17 of Pine Lake Township by Big Pine Lake, requested the following: 1. Proposing to add 24 campsites with the closest campsite being 10’ from the lot line. The required setback is 50’ and the closet campsite to the lake will be 15 - 20’. Required setback is 75’. 2. Also requesting a variance to the easement road with the closet campsite being approximately 10’ from easement road. Required setback is 20'. 3. Proposing to relocate an existing shed to south side of the property which will be used as a fish cleaning facility. The structure will be approximately 10’ from lot line and 10’ from the easement road. Required setbacks are 50’ from lot line and 20’ from easement road. Please note cabins 1, 2, and 3 will be removed and replaced with 4 campsites. September 8, 2016 Meeting - Joe Harlow represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Rick Wilson, to deny the variance as requested and to allow replacement of Cabins 1, 2 and 3 with four campsites. After additional discussion and consideration this motion was withdrawn. A motion was then offered by Thomas Lee, seconded by Rick Wilson and unanimously carried to table, with the applicant’s verbal pemiission, this public hearing until the next scheduled meeting of the Board of Adjustment to allow the applicant an opportunity to consider other possibilities and to get more information regarding the first tier density.
