VARIANCE REQUESTED IS:
Our family is building a screen porch on the east side of our cottage. The lot is only 75
feet vdde. The new porch is approximately 17 feet and would cane within about 6 feet of
the east property line. Screen porches are very inportant to avoid the bugs and to keep
cool. No other location would provide a breeze because of the location of existing
building. The unique combination of location of our neighbor's cottage (very close to the
water on the west), their new double garage (directly west), the hill upon vhich our
cottage is located, and the narrow lot, itekes the proposed location the most appropriate.
The porch will be less than 10 feet high, at least 60% screen, contain 217 square feet,
and have no heat or plumbing. It will be about 80 feet fron the water at the top of a
hill vhich is about 20 feet above the water line.
The variance will not change the character of the locality since it will not change
access, views, or si^t lines. It will enhance the nei^iborhood as opposed to being a
detriment or hardship. (Continued on attached sheet)
