Which would consist of digging a basement in that area. The house would be set 9' to 12’ into the bluff area." or Plan B - “If Plan A is refused I would like to put a road down the hill portion of our lot. Which I would and have to remove approx. 80 yds of land. Road would be approx. 12’ wide 3’ deep and 55’ long.” The property is described as Lot 1, Block 9, Pine Lake Shores, Little Pine Lake in Gorman Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. The applicant was not in attendance at the public hearing. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried to deny the variance as requested. After consideration, motion was made by Frank Lachowitzer, seconded by Randall Mann and carried with John Everts voting no, to approve a variance of 55’ from the required lot line setback of 65’ for the placement of a water-oriented accessory structure 10’ from the lot line. It was noted that the proposed variance is needed as there clearly is a hardship due to the water on the applicant’s property. Kent and Laurella Caulfield - Denied Kent and Laurella Caulfield, Grand Forks, ND, requested a variance to modify the previously granted variance of July 11, 1996 by allowing the addition to remain at its current lake setback as constructed with a height of 14’ and with a width of 23’ 4”. The property is described as part of Government Lot 5, Section 21 of Hobart Township by Rose Lake. Jeff Skonseng appeared along with the applicants at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by George Walter, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested noting that the applicants did not follow the previously approved variance or site permit as issued and the applicants are hereby granted a periocfof no more than 90 days in which to bring the structure into compliance with the previously approved variance and with the site permit as issued. John Tallarico - Approved John Tallarico, Cicero, IL, requested a variance to subdivide a 1.47-acre parcel from an existing 5.77- acre parcel. The property is described as a 1.87 acre tract in Government Lot 3, Section 3, and a 3.9 acre tract in the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Section 10 of Dunn Township by Pelican Lake. Jerry Smith, Realtor, represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide a 1.47 acre parcel from an existing 5.77 acre parcel with the following conditions: that both parcels must have adequate room for two on-site septic system, that no additional variances will be granted for these parcels and that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be presented at the time of conveyance.
