(7:25 p.m.) Scott and Kathy Thompson, part of Government Lot 5, Section 9 of Maplewood Township by Lake Lida, requested the following: Propose to build new dwelling approximately 44' from lake and 10’ from the edge of the road right-of-way. Also, proposing to put the drain field in the township road right-of-way, John Baird, Contractor, appeared with Kathy Thompson at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. An email from Bob Green in support of the variance as requested was read for the record. A letter from Craig Ripley, Maplewood Township Board Chairman, addressing the variance request was read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to approve the placement of a new dwelling no closer to the ordinary high water level than the neighbor to the North or 44’, whichever provides the greater setback, to approve the placement of the new dwelling 10’ from the edge of the road right-of-way with the approval and agreement of the Maplewood Town Board and to approve the placement of the drain field in the township road right-of-way with the approval and agreement of the Maplewood Town Board with the condition that no more than 25% of the total allowable lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. Nicholas D. Mariotti - Tabled (7:40 p.m.) Nicholas D. Mariotti, West 50' of Lot 7, Parkdaie Beach, Swan Lake in Dane Prairie Township, requested a variance of 10’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 10’, a variance of 10’ from the required lot line setback of 10’ and a variance of 4’ from the required dwelling setback of 10’ for the location of a holding tank 0’ from the road right-of- way, 0’ from the property line and 6’ from the dwelling. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. Emails from Tim and Susan Atkinson and from Warren Johnson expressing concerns with the requested variance application were read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Randall Mann made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to table with the verbal permission of the applicant, this variance application until the next scheduled meeting of the Board of Adjustment to provide the applicant with an opportunity to consider other alternatives and to review the possibility of obtaining an easement to use the property on the other side of the road. A. Eleanor Hultman - Approved the proposed dwelling addition with a condition and denied the proposed deck addition. (8:03 p.m.) Eleanor Hultman, Lot 2 Block 1 Sunset Beach Addition and Lot 3 Sunset Beach Second Addition, Lake Lizzie in Dunn Township, requested a variance of 68’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of an addition to an existing dwelling 32’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. Eleanor Hultman’s husband appeared with Eleanor at the public hearing. After discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Rod Boyer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 60’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the construction of an addition to an existing dwelling 40’ from the ordinary high water level with the condition that no more than 25% of the total allowable lot area can be covered with imperious surfaces and to deny the variance as requested for the proposed deck noting that the proposed deck would be within the shore impact zone, would be ahead of the building line and would obstruct the view from the adjacent property. It was noted that the proposed dwelling addition will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing structure.
