Mel.-and, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested permission to put a removable canopy X 12' deck, no side walls, 35' from ordinary high water mark, on Lot 6, Sunset Beach, Dunn Township. over a 10 After discussion, motion was made by John Everts to deny, as the roof would beconsidered part of building, which is already closer to lake than allowed under the ordinance. The motion was seconded by Frank Lachowitzer and in the discussion period, Tom Stringer cited reasons for opposing the motion to be the argument that the panels to be installed each spring and removed each fall, do not differ much to having a canvas type awning that would be attached or detached is what is proposed to be used, and he was not fully pursuaded that enforcement of the ordinance has been consistent with portions of overhang being closest to the road or lake being the beginning of any measuring distance. Mr. Meland operated in good faith to come up with a somewhat unusual idea that is unique and his best efforts t‘o comply with putting a roof over the deck without encroaching the lake in a way that would make it a part of the permanent structure of the building, with Tom Stringer voting "no". Slatten, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested permission to construct a dwelling on a parcel containing less than 200' of river, frontage, on a tract in G.L. 1, Sec tion 1, Dunn Township. After discussion, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and carried, to grant approval, no additional building to be done by the river, river frontage to be no question, hardship is the fact the lot is unique shape and terrain, which was separated from other property due to county's action in the construction of the road. Janice P. Timm, Wadena, MN, requested permission to allow two 20' x 26' garages re main on Lots 5 & 6, Hart Beach, Dead Lake Township. AFter listening to the various interested parties and letters read, including comments from Mr. and Mrs. Edsel Mikkola, Elmer Marwick, Vera McAlpin, etc., motion was made by Craig Anderson, se conded by Frank Lachowitzer and carried, to approve, hardship being misunderstanding on building permit, construction of considerable cost, acting in good faith, plans would have been different had they realized they were not in compliance. Marjorie Zluticky, Breckenridge, MN, requested to be tabled until spring on their request for variance to add a screen porch on front of mobile home 84' from lake, and a 14' X 26' garage ten feet from road right-of-way, on Lots 9 & 10, Engstrom Beach 4th Add'n, Edna Township.
