V»Oy MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT February 9, 1989 The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, February 9, 1989, in the Otter Tail County Board Room. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with the following persons in attendance: George Walter John Everts Craig Anderson Dan Cehler &l5ly Itnyll® Assistant County Attorney Bill Kalar, Land t Resource Management Hearing no additions or corrections to the minutes of the November meeting they stand as mailed. Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unani­ mously carried, to select George Walter as Chairman for 1989. EVERTS - VICE CHAIRMAN Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling to nominate John Everts for Vice Chairman for the year 1989. Hearing no further nominations for Vice Chairman, motion was made by Cecili Femling to cast a unanimous ballot for JOhn Everts for Vice Chairman. The motion was seconded by Craig Anderson and carried unanimously. The following requests for variance were heard: Matt Butler, Fargo, ND, requested permission to replace present building on Lot 4, Pelican Beach, Pelican Lane in Scambler Township, with a new building, overlapping the line line between Lots 3 & 4, new cottage to be ten feet farther away from the lake. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and carried unani­ mously. to grant variance, on the condition the lots, being 3 S 4, are joined together as one lot, and all other ordinance requirements be met. CALL TO ORDER MINUTES APPROVED WALTER - CHAIRMAN MATT BUTLER APPROVED Gene Curtis, Coon Rapids, MN, requested permission to locate an 8' x 12 CONDITIONAL APPROVAL ; shed 5' from south property line, construct addition to cottage 78' from current water level on Lot 11, Van Santen's Beauty Beach, in Section 11, Eagle Lake Township on Eagle Lake. After consideration motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and carried, with Cecil Femling voting "no", to grant the same rights and privil­ eges as neighbors enjoy, applying the "string test" building up to a line of site between the points of the neighbors cottages closest to the lake, on either side. Motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Dan Oehler to approve location of shed, hardship being terrain to the north and location of sewer system, and being able to enjoy the same rights and privileges as the neighbors enjoy. George Bergem, Underwood, MN, requested to be tabled until the May meeting. David Spies, Battle Lake, MN, requested permission to construct addi­ tion to cottage on Lots 14 S 15 i Pt. of 16, 1st Add'n to Augustana Beach, Otter Tail Lake in Amor Township, and construct garage within the ten foot side lot requirements. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by JOhn Everts and unanimously car­ ried, to grant a 4' variance for a 28* addition to the living t|uarters, in a northerly direction from the existing home, based on original survey and property lines on a substandard lot of record with property lines not being perpendicular to the lake.
