Carol and Neil Myhre, Lot J and Northwest 25’ of Lot K, Swanton’s Addition in Government Lot 8, Section
17 of Edna Township by Big McDonald Lake, requested the following: 1.) (Date lot created 1973)
Requesting to have lot declared buildable for residential use. 2.) Add second story to existing dwelling and
add a garage being no closer than 42’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the variance as requested. A letter from Michael Scherschligt in support of the
variance as requested was read for the record. After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a
motion, second by Michael Harris and unanimously carried, to declare Lot J and the Northwest 25’ of Lot K,
Swanton’s addition in Government Lot 8 a buildable lot for residential use. After additional discussion and
consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by Carl Zick and unanimously carried, to table,

on their drawing and to consider the relocation of the existing sheds.
Jerame Tysdal - Approved with a modification. (7:04 p.m.)
Jerame Tysdal, Lots 11 and 12, Block 2 Midway Park, Otter Tail Lake in Otter Tail Township, requested a
variance of 10’ from the required 20’ setback from North Midway Park Drive and a variance of 5 from the
required 20’ setback from the alley for the placement of a structure on Lot 11 10’ from North Midway Park
Drive and 15’ from the alley. Also, requesting a variance of 10’ from the required 20’ setback from North
Midway Park Drive for the placement of a structure on Lot 12 10’ from North Midway Park Drive. The
audience was polled with Robert Singelman expressing concern with the granting of any variance that
would obstruct the view from his property. A letter from Mrs. Menagh in opposition to the variance as
requested was read for the record. After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion,
second by Rick Wilson to approve the variance as requested. This motion failed with Michael Harris, Paul
Larson and Randall Mann voting no. After additional discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a
motion, second by Rick Wilson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 10’ from the required 20’
setback from North Midway Park Drive and a variance of 5’ from the required 20’ setback from the alley for
the placement of a structure on Lot 1110’ from North Midway Park Drive and 15’ from the alley. It was
noted that the variance as approve for Lot 11 is consistent with the immediate area and with other
variances previously approved within the immediate area. After additional discussion and consideration,
Paul Larson made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
4’ from the required 20’ setback from North Midway Park Drive for the placement of a structure on Lot 12
16’ from North Midway Park Drive and 10’ from the common lot line of Lots 12 and 13. It was noted that
the variance as approved for Lot 12 will provide the applicant with a reasonable use of the property.
