Motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Rod Boyer and unanimously carried, to approve the addition of part
of Lot 4 to Lot 3 with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided and with the condition that
the existing structures on Lot 3 and 4 must be at least 10' from the proposed lot line and a variance to approve the
proposed additions with the condition that the additions will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the
existing structure and with the condition that the additions must be at least 10’ from either the current lot line or the
revised lot line.

Jerry and Nancy Spittal - Approved
Jerry and Nancy Spittal, Perham, MN, requested “a variance to add 20’ from the back N.E. corner of
Lot 4 to Lot 3. We are also asking for a variance of 5’ from the lakeside, 3’ from the string line and a
variance of 7’ from the west lot line, to build additions on our bedroom and kitchen. We propose
building an 18’ by 10’ addition to our bedroom with a 3’ by 18’ extension to the west. We also propose
building an 8’ by 15’ addition to our kitchen which does run the string line.” The property is described
as Lots 3 and 4, Palubicki’s Beach, Little Pine Lake in Gorman Township. The audience was polled with
no one speaking for or against the request. A letter from Warren and Gretchen Larson opposing the
applicants’ request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann,
seconded by Rod Boyer and unanimously carried, to approve the addition of part of Lot 4 to Lot 3 with
the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided and with the condition that the
existing structures on Lot 3 and 4 must be at least 10’ from the proposed lot line and a variance to
approve the proposed additions with the condition that the additions will be no closer to the ordinary
high water level than the existing structure and with the condition that the additions must be at least 10’

Douglas J. Martin - Approved
Douglas J. Martin, Minneapolis, MN, requested a variance of 130’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 200’ for the placement of a dwelling no closer than 70’ from the ordinary high water
level and a variance of 80’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 150’ for the placement
of a septic system no closer than 70’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as
Government Lot 5 (Island), Section 19 of Dead Lake Township by Dead Lake. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by George
Walter, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 100’ from the
required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the placement of a dwelling and septic system no
closer than 100’ from the ordinary high water level.
Evelyn Bull - Approved
Evelyn Bull, Chisago City, MN, requested a variance of 49’ from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 100' for the addition of a three season porch 51’ from the ordinary high water level. The
property is described as Lots 17 and 18, Deer Lake Beach, Deer Lake in Everts Township. A letter
from Robert and Eileen Tolbert in support of the applicant’s request was read for the record. The
audience was polled with Perry Larson speaking for the request. A letter from Robert and Eileen
Tolbert in favor of the applicant’s request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was-,
made by John Everts, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
49’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the addition of a three season porch
51’ from the ordinary high water level with the following conditions:
1. the existing 12’ by 20’ boat house must be removed before a permit can be issued,
2. the proposed 10’ by 16’ addition will be considered as the applicant’s water - oriented accessory
structure,
3. the proposed 10’ by 10’ deck cannot exceed 3’ in height, and
4. the proposed 10’ by 16’ addition cannot exceed the 10’ maximum height allow for a water -
oriented accessory structure.
It was noted that the removal of the existing boathouse and granting the proposed development is an
overall improvement to the property.
