Larry B. Rosenberg and Carol A. King - Denied/Approved
Larry B. Rosenberg, Boise, ID, and Carol A. King, Rochester, MR, requested a variance of
16' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75', a variance to exceed the
string line by 6' and a variance of 5.5' from the required side lot line setback of 10'
for a 6' addition to the front of an existing cabin 59' from the ordinary high water level
and 4.5' from the side lot line. The property is described as Lot 10, Broadwater Beach
Second Addition, Pelican Lake in Dunn Township. Robert King represented the applicants at
the hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. A
letter in favor of the request from Harris Nygard, Eilene Rygard and Robert Schulte, Jr.
was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded
by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to deny the variance to exceed the string line
by 6' and to approve a variance of 5.5' from the required side lot line setback of 10' for
the construction of an addition to the front of an existing cabin 4.5' from the side lot
line and up to the existing building line.
E. and Elizabeth A. Foster - Approved
Lyle E. and Elizabeth A. Foster, Brainerd, MH, requested a variance of 8.5' from the
required side lot line setback of 10' for a 16' by 12' addition to an existing garage 1.5'
from the side lot line. The property is described as Lot 8, Belka Beach, Little Pine Lake
in Gorman Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
request. A letter opposing the request from Tarjei Iverson was read for the record.
After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and
unanimously carried, to approve the construction of a 16' by 12' addition to the roadside
of an existing 16' by 24' structure with the condition that the addition will be no closer
to the side lot line than the existing structure. Hardship being a substandard lot of
record.
David A. and Louise E. Trana - Approved
David A. and Louise E. Trana, Ottertail, JIM, requested a variance to subdivide substandard
contiguous lots. The applicants presently own part of Reserve Lot B, Lots 1, 6, 7, 8, 9,
10, 11, 12, and 13, Block 3 and Lots 12 and 13, Block 2, Leaf Lake Pleasure Grounds. The
applicants wish to sell that part of Reserve Lot G, Lot 1, part of Lot 11, all of Lots 12
and 13, Block 3, of Leaf Lake Pleasure Grounds. The balance of the property would be
retained by the applicants. The property is described as Lots 12 and 13, Block 2, Lot 1,
6 through 13, Block 3 and part of Reserve Lot 6, Leaf Lake Pleasure Grounds, West Leaf
Lake in Leaf Lake Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against
the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig
Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested with the condition
that the property being proposed for conveyance, as well as, lots 8, 9, and 10, Block 2,
Leaf Lake Pleasure Grounds, will be considered nonbuildable lots for residential dwelling.
It was noted that this area is a grossly substandard area and that the granting of the
variance will be improvement. It was also noted that the area being proposed for
conveyance will be used by the purchasers as a common area for the improvement of their
septic systems.

DEAR MP STEIN,
WE HAVE AGONIZED OVER BEING FORCED TO MAKE A DECISION ON THE ENCLOSED
VARIANCE REQUEST. WE HAVE KNOWN THE BAUCK/ FOSTER FAMILV FOR ABOUT 45
years, they are friends
WOULD ENJOY & APPRECIATE
THEY ARE THE KIND OF NEIGHBORS MANY MANY
EXCELLENT t we are now liv-. . . .
HAVINGPEOPLE
ING BY THE FOURTH GENERATION OF BAUCKS.
• • • •
WE FEEL COMPELLED TO REQUEST THIS VARIANCE NOT BE APPROVED AND FOR TWO
REASONS. 1.) IT DOES NOTHING TO ENHANCE THE VIEW FROM OUR EASTSIDE WINDOWS
FROM THE KITCHEN OR THE DINING AREAS. WE Do NOT EXPECT NEIGHBORS TO DO
THINGS TO IMPROVE A VIEW FOR OUR PROPERTY. IN THIS CASE, WE WILL HAVE THE
NOT TOO appealing! 2.) likewise a
NEIGHBOR SHOULD NOT EXPECT AN ADJOINING NEIGHBOR TO ACCEPT A VJEW
OBSTRUCTION THAT COULD CAUSE A VALUATION DECPEASE IN THEIR (oUr) PROP
ERTY.
SIDING OF A GARAGE TO LOOK AT
WE HAVE MADE A SUGGESTION TO THE FOSTERS THAT WILL ACCOMPLISH AND FULFILL
THEIR WANTS & NEEDS. INSTEAD OF AN ADDITION TO THE SOUTH (lAKESIDe) END
OF THEIR GARAGE MAKE THAT BDDITION ON THE NORTH (roADSIDe) ENO. IT WILL
NOT AFFECT ANYONE 3 VIEW AND THERE IS AMBBE ROOM TO ADD 12 OR 14 FEET THUS
GIVING THEM THE STORAGE SPACE THEY ARE SEEKING. WE WILL RIGHT NOW GIVE OUR
SUPPORT TO SUCH A VARIANCE REQUEST.
WE WOULD ATTEND, IN PERSON, THIS MEETING HOWEVER MY WIFE WIOL NOT DRIVE
RAFTER DARK . ON 22 AUGUST THE WRITER HAD A STROKE THUS FEELS UNCOMFORTABLE
DRIVING IN THE EVENING FOR, TO DATE, HE HAS NOT DONE SUCH. IF, HOWEVER,
our/my presence is necessary maybe we can prevail upon a friend to drive
US OVER FOR THE MEETING.
PLEASE ACCEPT OUR THANKS FOR CONSIDERATIONS TO OUR WRITTEN CONCERNS AND
