After additional discussion and consideration, Rod Boyer mad a motion, second by Steve Schierer and carried with
Paul Larson and Cecil Femling voting no, to approve a variance of T from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for
the placement of a 2T by 22’ attached addition to an existing second floor 3’ from the side lot line with the following
conditions: 1.) no more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces after the proposed
addition is completed, and 2) the existing boathouse must be removed on or before October 1, 2005.

"Michael and Mary Bader, part of Lots 9 and 10, Siebel's Beach and part of Government Lot 1, Section 35 of
Gorman Township by Little Pine Lake, requested a variance of 7' from the required side lot line setback of
10’ for the placement of a 2T by 22’ attached addition to an existing second floor 3’ from the side lot line.
John Filippello, Contractor , appeared with the applicants at the public hearing. Randall Mann, Chair, polled
the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and
discussion, Paul Larson made a motion to approve the variance as request with the condition that total
impervious surface coverage cannot exceed 25%. This motion was withdrawn before a second was
offered. After additional diiscussion and consideration, Rod Boyer mad a motion, second by Steve Schierer
and carried with Paul Larson and Cecil Femling voting no, to approve a variance of 7’ from the required
side lot line setback of 10' for the placement of a 2T by 22' attached addition to an existing second floor 3’
from the side lot line with t he following conditions: 1.) no more than 25% of the total lot area can be
covered with impervious s'urfaces after the proposed addition is completed, and 2) the existing boathouse
must be removed on or before October 1, 2005.
Travis R Rapatt - Approwed the variance for the building site location. (7:38 p.m.)
Travis R Rapatt, part of Giovernment Lots 1 and 2, Section 18 of Butler Township by Bear Lake, requested
a variance of SO’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the location of a building
site 140’ from the ordinary high water level and a variance of 10’ from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 150’ for the plaicement of sewage treatment system 140’ from the ordinary high water level. At
the hearing, the applicant withdrew the requested variance for the sewage treatment system. Randall
Mann, Chair, polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After
consideration and discuss ion, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance of 60’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the
location of a building site 140’ from the ordinary high water level. Hardship is the terrain and the unique
shape of the applicant’s piroperty. The Board noted that the variance as approved would provide the
applicant with the ability tc enjoy the same rights and privileges as others in this immediate area.
Eric Gerken - Approved with a condition. (7:43 p.m.)
Eric Gerken, Lot 1 Block 2 and the West 25’ of Reserve Lot A, Basswood Beach, Otter Tail Lake in Everts
Township, requested a variance of 33’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for the
replacement of a corrugated fiberglass roof on an existing screened in porch with a 6/12 vaulted rafter roof,
which will tie into the current roof line. The existing porch is 42’ from the ordinary high water level. Randall
Mann, Chair, polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After
consideration and discussiion, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Michael Conlon and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance of 33’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for the
replacement of a corrugat;ed fiberglass roof on an existing screened in porch with a 6/12 vaulted rafter roof
with the condition that an existing storage structure must be placed in a complying location on or before
October 1, 2005. The Board noted that the variance as approved applies only to the roof replacement
project and does not authiorize any other modifications or changes to the 8’ by 18’ porch.
