The required setback from the top of the bluff is 30'. The property is described as Lot 24, Block 1 of Birchwood River Estates, Otter Tail River in Aurdal Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Fern ling, seconded by Bert Olson and unanimously carried, to grant a variance for the construction of a 14' wide by 15' long deck in the bluff impact zone with the condition that there will be no excavation, other than for the placement of the post for the deck, in the bluff Impact zone area by the applicant. George L. Buen - Denied George L. Buen, Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance of 1' 10" from the required setback of 10' for the location of an existing septic tank 8' 2" from a 14' by 70' mobile home. The property is described as Lot 1, Block 1 of Borg Addition, West Battle Lake in Girard Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown. Rushview Resort, Robert Jenson - Approved Rushview Resort, Robert Jensen, Minneapolis, MN, requested a variance of 54' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75' and a variance of 16.5' from the required shore impact zone setback of 37.5' for a 4' addition to the east side and a 2' addition to the west side of cabin number 3. The property is described as Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6 of William Reese's Lakeshore and part of Government Lots 2 and 3, Section 26 of Rush Lake Township on Rush Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 54' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75' and a variance of 16.5' from the required shore impact zone setback of 37.5' for a 4' addition to the east side and a 2' addition to the west side of cabin number 3. The addition will be no closer to the lake than the existing structure. Norman Richard Seim - Approved Norman Richard Seim, Moorhead, MN, requested a variance to reduce the 20' setback at the rear of the applicant's lot for the construction of a 24' by 24' garage and requested that a setback of 10' be approved instead of the 20' setback. The property Is described as Lots A5 and A6, Survey Lots of Government Lots 8 and 9, Section 1 of Dora Township on Sybil Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a 4' variance from the required 20' road right of way setback for the construction of a 24' by 24' garage. Hardship being a substandard lot of record and the area needed to maintain a deep well located on the property.
