( 6:24 p.m.) Dennis Bassen Family Trust, survey lots of Government Lots 5 and 6, Section 33 of Tordenskjold Township by Stalker Lake, requested a variance of 60' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the removal of an existing roof over an existing sunroom and screen porch, for the installation of pier footings under the deck and sunroom. for the installation of a new roof over the deck and the sunroom, and for the addition of new windows and siding which will match the cabin. Daryl Jensen represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 60' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the removal of an existing roof over an existing sunroom and screen porch, for the installation of pier footings under the deck and sunroom, for the installation of a new roof over the deck and the sunroom and for the addition of new windows and siding with the condition that the 6' by 14’ deck, which will be covered by the roof, cannot be enclosed and with the condition that no more than 25% of the total lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces as determined by the Land and Resource Department. Robert and Sara True and Tom and Winnifred Collins - Approved as requested. (6:30 p.m.) Robert and Sara True and Tom and Winnifred Collins, part of Reserve E & D, Coney Island Acres, part of Lot 3 and all of Lot 4, Block 1. Ukkelberg Beach First Addition, West Battle Lake in Girard Township, requested the following; we would like to put in a mound system for sewage treatment for our home on West Battle Lake. After having our contractor, Dan Ness, and his septic system designer, Greg Lillemon, come out to assess the situation (we have an odd shaped lot with limited space) we have determined that to accomplish this system, we would be unable to meet side lot line setbacks. Therefore, we are requesting a variance of zero feet from the side lot line in order to cross over on neighbors (Tom and Winnie Collins) property. The easement for this has been drawn up and filed with the county. On the north end of mound system it will come onto Tom Collin's lot approximately 30’. Dan Ness, contractor, appeared with the applicants at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by Randall Mann and carried with Mark Steuart voting no, to approve the installation of the proposed mound system in the location as illustrated on the drawing submittea witn me variance application, harosnip Is me terrain raai reg and Pam Schmitz - Approved Option 1 as modified. Denied Option 2. (6:43 p.m.) Greg and Pam Schmitz, part of Government Lot 4, Section 15 of Edna Township by Paul Lake, requested the following: First option - a variance of 29’ from the required side lot line setback of 65’ and a variance of 104 square feet from the maximum allowable of 260 square feet for the construction of an 18' by 20' by 10’ high screened in porch having total area of 364 square feet and being 36’ from the side lot line. Second option - a variance of 2’ from the maximum allowable height of 10' for the construction of a 15’ by 17’ screened in porch with an overall height of 12’. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Mark Steuart, second by Rod Boyer and unanimously carried, to deny option two as no adequate hardship unique to the property had been shown that would allow for the granting of the variance as requested. After additional discussion and consideration, motion was made by Paul Larson, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve (option 1) a variance of 29’ from the required side lot line setback of 65' for the construction of a water oriented accessory structure 36' from the side lot line and in the location as illustrated on the applicants’ drawing (attached to the garage) with the condition that the proposed water oriented accessory structure cannot exceed the maximum size requirements for a water oriented accessory structure as they are stated in the Shoreland Management Ordinance. dtomas and 'Winded‘^oBns SBottie "S£(i^e 42221^ie&erg SDrive d ’^MeroX.
