VARIANCE REQUESTED IS:(1) Variance of 25' from the required 100' set back and
(2) Variance of 2" from the required 30' buffer setback.
This will allow for the proposed project to remain parallel with the lake
frontage and allow building to conform with existing portions that have
been granted prior variances.
PURPOSE OF PROJECT: Primarily to have a basement for protection from
storms.Home is quite vulnerable, being on a hill) and having access
ibility to the plumbing items thht are now located in a 24" crawl space,
which is very difficult to work on.
REASON FOR PROPOSED LOCATION; Suitable grade, as opposed to any,other
area behind the home that would conform to codes but would require much
removal of dirt. Also, we would not have access to the septic system
if we conformed to the required setbacks. The other side of the system
is bordered by mature woods and not allowing for anything to get through.
In order to properly evaluate the situation, please provide as much supplementary information as possible, such as: maps, plans,
information about surrounding property, etc. APPLICANT SHALL BE PRESENT AT THE SCHEDULED HEARING.
I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tall
County.

MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance of 25' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' and a
variance of 2' from the required 30' bluff setback for an addition to an existing structure
75' from the ordinary high water level and 20' from the top of the bluff,
that the addition will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing
structure.
