MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Randall Mann and carried with John Everts abstaining, to approve
a 2’ variance from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the construction of a 24’ by 28' garage 8’ from the west
side lot line with the condition that the area between the garage and the retaining wall will be hard surfaced and that
all drainage from the proposed garage will be directed away from the retaining wall and the drainage must be retained
on the applicant’s property until it either reaches the road ditch or passes through the area leading to the lake.
Hardship being a substandard lot of record and the terrain of the applicant’s property.

Dear Mr. Ales,
After considering your request to build a garage 14' from the township road right-of-way instead
of 20’ from the road right-of-way on your property on Fair Oakes, the Girard Town Board has
granted permission for such garage to be built.
However, if at any time in the future Girard Township does any road work that interferes with
such garage or the garage adversely affects the township road in any way, the property owner
shall assume full responsibility for any expenses incurred.
