I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail
County. I understand I must contact my township in order to determine whether or not any additional variance and/or permits
are required by the township for my proposed project.

Karl F. Eldevik, Wadena, MN, requested a variance to construct a 26' by 70' home, v.'ith attached
garage, 35' from the ordinary high water mark. The required setback is 100', The property is
described as Lot 4, Pebble Bay, West Leaf Lake in Leaf Lake Township. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration ,imotion was made by Craig
_ Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and unanimously carried to approve a 65' variance from the
required setback of 100' and a variance from the shore impact zone area for the'cdnstruction of
a 26' by 70' home. No additional variance should be required. The structure will be no closer
to the lake than the neighbors on either side and the lot is a substandard lot.
SCOTT J. MALMSTROM-APPROVED
'7Scott J, flalmstrom, Clitherall, MN, requested a variance of 20 ' for the construction of a 20'
by 24'. building that would be adjoining the south end of the drainfield. The required setback
from the drainfield is 20', The property is described as Lot 8, Fair Oaks, West Battle Lake in
-Girard Township. The audience was polled with no_one speaking for or against the request. After
consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Dan Oehler and carried with
John Everts abstaining, to grant a 10' variance from the required drainfield setback of 20' for
the construction of a 24' by 24'structure and the applicant must also provide adequate water
drainage away from the drainfield. Hardship being the terrain and topography.

MICHAEL D. THACKER-APPROVED !
Michael D, Thacker, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance of 1 '6" from the required.side lot
line setback of 1 O' for the construction of an 8' by 24' addition to the: west side of his existing
house. The addition would be'for an indoor bathroom and an additional bedroom. The'addition
would be 8'6" from the.side lot line at the north corner and 9'3" frOffi the side loHtne at the
soutii corner. The existing deck on the north side of the house would be changed frOtri its present
size of i 2' by 16' to 1 O' by 28'. The property is described as Lot 2?Oakdale, SouthTurtle Lake
- inTordenskjold Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
request. After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by Cecil Femling and
unanimously carried, to grant a 1'6" variance from the required side lot line setback of 10' for
the construction of an 8' by 24' addition, with the condition that the outside bathroom will be
removed. ■
