I'm asking to build my garage inside of the 20’ setback from road right-of-way as that is my only altemative in order for us to have a garage on my property, and we plan for this to be our year-round home. The garage will be 22’ deep and 24’ wide, now my impervious percentage will be 19% on buildings with a new total % for buildings and other impervious surfaces of 24.5%. Requesting to construct detached garage being 1 ’ 4” at the closet point to the road right-of-way, rcquiicd setback is 20’. The application was represented by .leff and Janet Huber. To not be able to regulate the water run off can damage the water clarity. West Battle has top ratings on the clarity in the state. The total building exceeds 2.7% more, and then the building should be made to fit the 20% and no more 3" Variance from the 10" lot line side yard. Guess everyone can now have 7' Variance on that given, then you will have to give more variance somewhere else. 6' variance on lake side: so now it will only be 69'? The run off again into the lake © So everyone can now have more built on the lake side? They can build a smaller place and stay in the variance can't they? This may sound little to you people, but that is why the Lake Shore, County s have rules. So if everyone asked for a little - where would the little turn into? I am not trying to make a big deal about this - but rules are rules and West Battle Lake is one of the top lakes in MN. Specifically against the request for 3' variance from required 10' lot line side yard setback. I have the property adjacent to the North side of there lot. I have about the only true cabin left in the area. I believe that their building is already at the lOft markvl feel that their cabin is already crowding us. 'w- I don't see any mention about how far the building has to be from our well. However if allowed to build in my direction it would also be closer to my water well. My father was the first person to build in that area in the mid 50's. He had the choice of any lot on South Point and he chose the one. I was born in 1963 and have been using that lot since then. Saying that I believe that I have been on that property longer than anyone else in the area. I am not against change, within reason. I have seen a lot of remodeling over the years and that is fine. I just feel that if they wanted a larger cabin maybe they should have purchased a lot that supports their dreams. The Anderson's purchased their property last year and now want a building that is bigger than the lot will handle. At some point I also plan on remodeling and I know that I will have to go through the same process.
