The new addition and concrete will add approximately 782 more square feet. There will be one driveway taken out equaling about 429 square feet. The 782 square feet added less the 429 square feet removed leaves a net increase of 353 square feet. The addition of 353 square feet to the remaining impervious surfaces equals 9,282.8 square feet or 31% of the total lot area. This compares to 29.9% of the total lot area, which is presently covered, with impervious surfaces. The property is described as Lots 19, 20 and 21, Midland Beach, Pelican Lake in Dunn Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to table the applicant’s request until the April 2, 1998 meeting to allow the applicant an opportunity to consider other alternatives and plans. Patrick and Pamela Honer - Approved Patrick and Pamela Honer, Dent, MN, requested a variance of 22’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a 40’ by 47’ dwelling 78’ from the ordinary high water level. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Cecil Femling and carried with Craig Anderson abstaining, to approve the placement of a dwelling no closer to the lake (ordinary high water level) than the existing dwelling. It should be noted that the existing deck is not to be considered as a part of the existing dwelling when determining the placement and/or location the new structure. Stephanie Schacher - Approved Stephanie Schacher, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of 8’ from the required road right-of- way setback of 20’ for the placement of a 24’ by 24’ garage 12’ from the road right-of-way. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 8’ from the required road right-of-way setback for 20’ for the placement of a 24’ by 24’ garage 12’ from the road right-of-way with the condition that the ingress and egress doors for the garage must be placed at a right angle to the road. f Steven J. and Renae J. Troyer - Approved Steven J. and Renae J. Troyer, Fargo, ND, requested a variance for the placement of the southeast corner of a proposed 16’ by 24’ addition 3’ ahead of the string line. The Land and Resource f Department notes that the string line must start 8’ from the front of the home as the front 8’ are considered a water - oriented accessory structure. Per drawing the proposed addition appears to be 70’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 1, Elwill Beach, Ethel Lake in Girard Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request.
