Lot five (5) of Second Addition to Sanda's Beach, together with a 50 foot
extension of said Lot Five (5) consisting of that part of the vacated
platted road adjoining said Lot Five (5) and being part of Government Lot

Range Thirty-Nine (39). Ivina within the following described boundary lines;

VARIANCE REQUESTED IS: To add a ten (10) foot wide by twelve (12) foot long
addition to the West side of the cabin. The addition would begin at the
existing front of the cabin and extend North along the West side.
To add a second addition to the rear of the existing cabin. The addition
will be thirty (30) feet long by thirty-three (33) feet wide. The ground floor
will be an attached garage and storage area. The upper level will be thirty
(30) feet long and twenty-eight (28) feet wide of living space.
The lot dimensions are; sixty-one (61) foot front. West side two hundred
(200) feet. East side two hundred six and eight tenths (206.8) feet. North
or rear is seventy-four (74) feet. Square footage of the lot is 13635.55
square feet. The total ground covering square footage of the cabin and
requested additions would be 1854 square feet.
The existing storage shed to the rear East of the existing cabin will be
torn down.
In order to properly evaluate the situation, please provide as much supplementary information as possible, such as: maps, plans,
information about surrounding property, etc. APPLICANT SHALL BE PRESENT AT THE SCHEDULED HEARING.
I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tail
County. I understand I must contact my township in order to determine whether or not any additional variance and/or permits
are required by the township for my proposed project.

MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance from the ordinary high water level setback for the construction of a 10' by
12' addition to the west side of the cabin and for the construction of a 30' by 33' addition to the
rear of the cabin. Hardship being a substandard lot of record.

Yerle Blaha - Approved
Verle Blaha. North Oaks, MN. requested a variance of approximately 1 1 O' from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 150' and a variance of approximately 15‘ from the
required 20' drain field setback. The property is described as Lot 22, except the North 15' and
Lot 23, Channel View, Otter Tail River in Otter Tail Township. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler,
seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of approximately
1 1 O' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 150' for the construction of a 16'
by 24' addition to an existing dwelling and a variance of approximately 15' from the required
20' drain field setback for the location of an upgraded drain field. The applicant has given
considerable thought to his plans and the granting of this variance request will allow the
applicant to make the best use of his property. The addition will be no closer to the river
channel than the existing structure.
Robert Aspelund - Approved
Robert Aspelund, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of 5' from the required side lot tine
setback of 1 O' for the enclosure of an existing 10' by 20' carport and for the addition of a 1 O' by
14' porch to an existing dwelling. The property is described as the SELY 25' of Lot 6 and the
NWLY 25' of Lot 7, Inlet Beach, Lake Lida in Lida Township. A letter from Mark and Bobbie
Holman In favor of granting this variance request was read for the record. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by
Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a 5' variance
from the required side lot line setback of 1 O' for the enclosure of an existing 1 O' by 20'
carport. After additional consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by Craig
Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a 3' variance from the required side lot line
setback of 10' for an addition of a 10' by 14' porch to an existing dwelling. Hardship being a
substandard lot of record.

against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil
Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance from the ordinary high water level
setback for the construction of a 10' by 12' addition to the west side of the cabin and for the
construction of a 30' by 33’ addition to the rear of the cabin. Hardship being a substandard lot
