Ranee and Lisa Brendefur - Approved with condition.
Motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
60’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for an 18’ by 30’ addition to the north side of an existing
home 40’ from the ordinary high water level with the condition that before a site permit for construction of the proposed
addition can be issued, the existing impervious surfaces must be reduced to a level that will not result in impervious
surface coverage of more than 25% after the completion of the proposed development. Hardship is a substandard lot
of record.

TO MEET THE LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO TAKE ACTION WITHIN 60
DAYS OF THE RECEIPT OF THE COMPLETED APPLICATION.I

DAY REQURIEMENT, THE COUNTY MAY HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE BUT

Thursday, April 5, 2001 ----------------
The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, April 5, 2001, with the following persons in
attendance;

Call to Order - The meeting of the Board of Adjustment was called to order at 6:25 p.m.
Chair -
The first order of business was the selection of the chair for the 2001 -year. David Holmgren and Steve
Schierer nominated Randall Mann. Hearing no other nominations, motion was made by David Holmgren,
second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to elect Randall Mann as Chair of the Board of
Adjustment for the year 2001.
Vice Chair-
Randall Mann, Chair, then called for nominations for the position of vice-chair. Steve Schierer and David
Holmgren nominated Cecil Femling. Cecil Femling and Mark Steuart nominated David Holmgren. After
discussion and consideration, David Holmgren requested that his name be withdrawn from consideration.
Hearing no other nominations, a motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by David Holmgren and
unanimously carried, to elect Cecil Femling as vice-chair of the Board of Adjustment for the year 2001.
Minutes Approved -
Hearing no corrections or additions the minutes of the December 14, 2000 meeting was approved as mailed.
The following variance requests were heard:
i>Rance and Lisa Brendefur - Approved with condition.
F Ranee and Lisa Brendefur, Henning, MN, requested a variance of 60’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 100’ for an 18’ by 30’ addition to the north side of an existing home 40’ from the ordinary high
water level. The property is described as part of Lot 3 and all of Lot 4, Rainbow Lodge, East Battle Lake in
Girard Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After discussion
and consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by David Holmgren and unanimously carried,
to approve a variance of 60’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for an 18’ by 30’
addition to the north side of an existing home 40’ from the ordinary high water level with the condition that
before a site permit for construction of the proposed addition can be issued, the existing impervious surfaces s'
