Motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance
of approximately 6 to 7' from the required side lot line setback of 1 O', a variance of 8' from the required non
dwelling setback from a drain field of 10' and a variance of approximately 4 to 5' from the required septic
tank setback of 10' for the placement of an 8' by 12' storage shed approximately 3 to 4' from the side lot line,
2' from the drain field and approximately 5 to 6' from the septic tank. Hardship being a substandard lot of
record. It should be noted that the applicant should have adequate space to maintain the septic system and that
the proposed structure is not a dwelling. The applicant must place the shed at least 20' from the road right-
of-way.

Robert N. Ronken, Moorhead, MN. requested a variance of approximately 6 to 7' from the required side lot line
setback of 10', a variance of S' from the required non-dwelling setback from a drain field of 10' and a variance
of approximately 4 to 5' from the required septic tank setback of 1 O' for the placement of an 8‘ by 12' storage
shed approximately 3 to 4' from the side lot line, 2' from the drain field and approximately 5 to 6' from the
septic tank. The property is described as the North 1 /2 of Lot 2, Linden Park, East Battle Lake in Oirard
Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion
was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
approximately 6 to 7' from the required side lot line setback of 1 O', a variance of 8' from the required non
dwelling setback from a drain field of 10’ and a variance of approximately 4 to 5' from the required septic

Russ D. Heimbuch - Approved
Russ D. Heimbuch, West Fargo, ND, requested a variance to exceed what the string line would permit by
approximately 7‘, The applicant is considering replacing an existing cottage with a year round home. The new
structure would be setback farther from the ordinary high water level than the existing structure and would
provide the neighboring properties with less view obstruction than the applicant's current structure. The
property is described as the West 50' on the shore and the West 100' in the rear of Lot 1 and 1 6 1 /2' adjacent
on the West, Linden Park Beach, Pelican Lake in Dunn Township. Steve Rufer, Attorney, appeared with the
applicant at the hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance that would allow the applicant to exceed what the string line would permit by
approximately 7'. It should be noted that the new home will be setback approximately 1 O' farther from the
ordinary high water level than the present structure. The applicant's new home will be in line with the
structure to the right. Hardship being the original surve-/ of these lots and the skewed placement of the
dwelling on the adjacent neighbor's property. The lot will be substantially improved by the granting of this
variance,
Harry J. Genseal - Approved
HcF'ry J. Genseal, Pekin, iL, requested the following: a variance of approximately 80 to 85' from the required
ordinary high water level setback of ! 00', a variance of approximately 30 to 35' from the required shore
impact zone seinacK of 50' ana a variance of approximately 5' from the required road right-of-way setback of
20' for the construction of a 15' by 25' addition to an existing structure. The property is described as part of
Government Lot 6, Section 10 of Hobart Township on Wimer Lake. The chairman of Hobart Township had called
the office to state that the Hobart Town Board is opposed to the granting of the variance request due to public
safety concerns. The audience was polled v/ith no one speaking for or against the request.

After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson. seconded by John Everts and carried with John
Everts voting no. to approve a variance of approximately 80 to 85‘ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 1 00' and a variance of approximately 30 to 35' from the required shore impact zone setback of
50' for the construction of a 15' by 25' addition no closer to the road right-of-way than the existing
structure with the condition that the applicant will show proof that the public safety concerns have been
discussed with the Hobart Town Board.
Gerald Larson - Approved
Gerald Larson. Fargo. ND. requested a variance of approximately 55' from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 100' and a variance of approximately 5' from the required shore impact zone setback of 50'
for the construction of a 24' by 36' cabin, which will be attached to an existing structure by an 8' breeze
way, 45' from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 6, Peach's Silent Lake Beach,
East Silent Lake in Dora Township. The audience was polled with Chris Christenson speaking in favor of the
granting of the variance request, After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson. seconded by
Randall Mann to approve the variance as requested. It was noted that the applicant's structure will be setback
farther from the lake than it would have been had the applicant proceeded with his 1984 plans. Hardship being
a substandard lot of record. The motion failed with Cecil Femling, Carl Johnson, John Everts and George
Walter voting no. After additional consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Randall Mann
and unanimously carried, to approve the attachment of a 24' by 36' addition to the front of the existing 20' by
20' structure. The new structure can extend 24' toward the lake from the front of the existing structure.
David M. Eitreim - Approved
David M, Eitreim, C/0 Martin L, Eitreim, Jasper, MN, requested a variance of 90' from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 150' for the construction of a dwelling approximately 60' from the ordinary high
water level. The property is described as Lot 1 1 , Riverview Beach. Otter Tail River in Rush Lake Township.
The applicant was represented at the hearing by Martin L. Eitreim. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Carl
Johnson and unanimously earned, to approve a variance of 90' from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 150' and a variance of 15' from the required shore impact zone setback of 75' for the construction
of a dwelling approximately 60' from the ordinary high water level. Hardship being a substandard lot of
record. The applicant has adeouate back lot area to handle a septic system.
Duane B. Aune - Approved
Duane B. Aune, Bismarck, ND, requested a variance to allow a boat house to remain 3.5' from the side lot line.
The required side lot line setoack for water oriented accessory structures is 40', The property is described as
Lot 26, MaplehuTst, Lake Lida in Lida Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against
the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by Randall Mann and carried
with Carl Johnson abstaining, to approve a variance that would allow a boat nouse to remain 3,5' from the side
lot line.
