P4IMTERB, PES8U5 ‘*LLS /JtJE t \ \ \ J MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT August 4, 1983 The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, August 4, Vice Chairman Craig Anderson opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m following members present; Tom Stringer John Everts Frank Lachowitzer Craig Anderson Chairman George Walter arrived at 9:00 p.m. 1983.with the• ) Upon motion made by Frank Lachowitzer, seconded by Tom Stringer and carried, the minutes of the July meeting were approved, with the addition of the following considerations on the John Bauch approval; Garage of the neighbor on Lot 11 is ten feet from the road and on Lot 15 is thirteen feet from the road. The following requests for variance were heard: Harry Anderson, Battle Lake, MN, represented by Sam Lykken, requested permission to convey two lots, one with 100 feet of lakeshore and 23,000 square feet, the other with ,84 feet of^lakeshore containing 80,000 square feet, without platting, surveyor's drawing to be provided, in Pt. of G.L. 4, Section 31, Girard Township. After discussion, motion was made by Tom Stringer to approve on the basis the town board has no objections, consideration for road access has been satisfied, the smaller of the two lots afterthe division meets all minimum requirements for lot area for water frontage and^the larger of the two lots although less frontage has adequate size with building on it already, therefore by our current standards is a buildable lot, conditioned upon-a surveyor's drawing, would not set a precedent in this development, the 84' lakeshore would not be buildable. The motion was ■ Vseconded by Craig Anderson and carried with Frank Lachowitzer voting "no". Elizabeth Aughenbauqh, Battle Lake, MN, requested permission to construct a 6' high privacy fence commencing 55' from high water mark, running north for 155', on Lot 10, Inglewood, Everts Township. Also in attendance were Mrs. Aughenbaugh's daughter and son-in-law, Vernon Simmer, Leonard & Rosie Hockstein. After considerable dis cussion and after listening to the various interested parties, motion was made by Tom Stringer to approve, for the same reasons cited at the meeting of June 2nd, if ever there was justification for a privacy fence, this would be it, Mrs. Aughen baugh should have the right to enjoy her property wi-th a commercial property ad jacent and the high dencity with the use and misuse including garbage on property.
